She was born in Michigan, and after graduating from Michigan State University she moved to Texas and began her teaching career. She's been teaching ever since, currently at Goodwin College. Julia reads a variety of genres, but gravitates towards humor and nonfiction. Her goal as an author is to write humorous nonfiction, hoping to reach students beyond her classroom.
