John is a former Royal Marine who served during Operation Telic I in Iraq as part of 40 Commando's Manoeuvre Support Group. After leaving the military, he built a successful career in telecommunications, but the experiences of war, transition, resilience, and family continued to shape his life.

His writing combines honest reflection with vivid storytelling, exploring the realities of military service, personal growth, fatherhood, and the lessons learned both on and off the battlefield. Through his work, John aims to preserve memories, share hard-won insights, and inspire others facing their own challenges.

He lives in the Oxfordshire countryside with his wife, and has three daughters. His debut memoir is the first in a planned series of books that trace his journey from the battlefield to family life and beyond.
