Jo has a love of history and a fascination of how it has shaped the present. She grew up in rural America alongside her three elder brothers. Her maternal Grandmother (Mémé), with whom she was very close, emigrated to the US from France, post WWII. It was not until near the end of Mémé’s life that she spoke to Jo about the war years. She described these years as being full of incredible hardship and loss but also of courage and great friendships. Moved by these stories of bravery, determination and fellowship, Jo began writing stories about inspirational young men and women during her high school years. Jo lives in Maryland with her husband, their three children and two Maine Coon cats. She has travelled extensively through Europe and the US and loves to explore the history of new places. She also enjoys walking on the beach, gardening, playing chess and listening to music.
