A fourth-generation oil and gas professional, Jay R. Young is the Founder & CEO of King Operating Corporation, a privately held, Dallas-based oil and gas operator. With over 100 years of combined oil and gas exploration development experience, King employs a staff of industry professionals which includes geologists, petroleum engineers, field operations, land professionals, finance & accounting.

King’s business model is designed to minimize risk by acquiring and developing in areas with a long history of producing oil and gas. Mr. Young and his associates developed a unique method for the oil and gas business to acquire scalable assets in a proven field, utilize equity to start and debt to prove up the field and divest to a larger company.

Complimenting his professional endeavors, his wife Michelle and four daughters represent focal points in his life pursuits. An avid Texas Rangers fan and former partial-owner, Mr. Young has fond memories of the MLB team’s run for the World Series in 2010 and 2011.

Additionally, Mr. Young enjoys participating in local and national philanthropic organizations such as serving on the Executive Board of Directors for Circle Ten Council (Boy Scouts of America), Alzheimer’s Association - North Central Texas Chapter and his alma mater, Angelo State University’s Foundation Board where he graduated with a BBA degree in 1985.
