Waking is book one of the Merrow Trilogy which depicts an alternate history of both modern and colonial Pawtuxet Village, RI--with homicidal mermaids, a functioning alcoholic funeral director/mother, and a dark sense of humor. Currently, Ms. Rigney resides in Pawtuxet Village, RI where she runs a small art school for both children and adults.
