Edward J. Renehan Jr. is the author of numerous critically-acclaimed books published by such imprints as Doubleday, Crown, Oxford University Press, The University of Michigan Press, and Chicago Review Press. He has appeared on PBS's The American Experience, C-SPAN's BookTV, NPR, and elsewhere, and his byline has appeared in publications ranging from The Wall Street Journal to The San Francisco Chronicle and Hearst's VERANDA. He lives near Newport, RI. Before retreating to the Rhode Island coast, he pursued a long career in NYC publishing, most notably as the longtime Director of Computer Publishing Programs for Macmillan/MBCI. He continues to be an active consultant on tech editorial matters, while focusing his own writing on social and cultural history.
