David Manderbach was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Moving to Lancaster, SC at a very young age; he began a lifetime of study and interest in the American History. Particularly Abraham lincoln, and the American Civil War. Having studied American and World History at Winthrop University; he has also worked as a consultant for motion pictures and documentaries, and as a public speaker, on American History for over 20 years. For reference on his sympathies; his family history is evenly divided between Northern and Southern culture in the Civil War, and his family has a rich tradition in American Military Service. David is a direct descendent of John Potts; noted Quaker and early colonial merchant, who founded the cities of Pottsville and Pottstown, Pa. David has written numerous articles on the American Civil War, and the South Carolina Confederate flag controversy. His family's' involvement in World War II, on Civil War politics, local history, slavery and the reparations issue have appeared in numerous major publications. He has been a featured speaker at various civic groups and conventions speaking on the politics of the South Carolina flag issue that was brought to light in 1998, and again in 2015 within his home state of South Carolina. David is also an award winning songwriter and musician with over 200 hundred works published. He is also a licensed aircraft pilot, gun owner and animal lover.
