After a few years of teaching middle school and high school math, Dana Johnson began teaching college students. She has spent more than 30 years teaching math and education at two community colleges and three state universities. Most recently she has taught at the College of William and Mary where she has won two student-nominated awards for outstanding teaching. “Will This Be on the Test?” is the product of her efforts to help beginning college students understand how to be successful in their academic work, especially as preparation for life after college. Dana’s two daughters have encouraged her to write this book as they have seen the need in their own teaching for a guide to help students avoid the pitfalls and achieve success. Dana’s daughter, Jennifer Price, is the author of two chapters in this book. Dana is also the author of several math curriculum units she developed for the Center for Gifted Education at the College of William and Mary.
Dana lives in Williamsburg, VA with her husband who is a mathematics professor at the College of William and Mary.
