The Paranormal Investigative Task Force has given Detective Jason Schlatt the Class-A ranking for his supernatural anomaly skills. He doesn’t just fight the fiends that blend in, he can trace their energy and see exactly where they’re hiding. In a world filled with hidden dangers, the hunters become the hunted.

Armed with an old revolver forged from a meteorite, Detective Schlatt and the alluring Special Agent Natalia Hunnigan team up with a succubus to take down Demons from Ars Goetia. Combined, they're incredibly powerful, but so are the threats that seem to never stop.

The Narrators did an amazing job. I liked the overall premise and interactions with the supernatural. The spice was good. Just somthing about it that im not sure if I'll continue or it will be a while before I pick it up again.

It was a solid story

I need more of this series stat. I loved the characters and setting. Roy Colt is doing something amazing and Renée and Alfie brought it to life.

Fun

I'm trying not to yuk anyone's yum but this was bad.

The tropes were bad. the writing wasn't great. The overall story was .... ok, it was sub-par. not awful, but not good.

Bri is steriotypically bubbly. Natalia is steriotypically broody and dark. both of them in the most annoying ways and to redivulous extents. The MC is ridiculous and not in a good way.
How is he ripped as hell but has to keep pulling his pants up by grabbing his belt?

If this was trying to be a book that made fun of adult books aimed at men, it would be fine. but it's a serious take.

I'm sure this is lots of people's cup of tea, but it sure as hell isn't mine.

Also there were several blips where part of the audio wasn't recorded or was cut out. The affect was the narrator had characters responding to something but hand t said what is was, as if a second of audio had been shipped out.
In other spots the narrator would have one character (say character 1) finish talking with "character 1 said", then skipped to "character 2 said", then character 1 starts talking again. But co.wtely skipped what character 2 actually said.

it's not good

It was pretty good... until another author decided to turn his MC into an idiot who lets their logical reasoning be overridden by emotion in order to allow for a reckless Jason to advance the plot a certain way. Basically advance plot at the expense of the MC.

The only thing worst than this type of person, little emotional control, being a Law Enforcement Agent is a corrupt one. Ofc, with how many rules Jason breaks, he toes that line really close. Whats the point of the badge at this point? He uses it's authority to break the rules and does as he pleases anyways. Not like he's going to follow the rules without it. And the entire PIT agency just sounds super shady and corrupt.

The last 5 chapters were just terrible. Think this is the first time I've read/listened to where an author fails so hard when they were so close to the finish line. Instead of being good; it just highlights all the flaws throughout the story. The deputy and the tree nymph are probably the only redeeming characters throughout the book but its not enough to get the next in the series.

Meh
