Crystal Jackson is an author, filmmaker, and historian, whose unique stories about American history have exploded on the Los Angeles scene. As a filmmaker, Crystal has written several motion picture screenplays and directed the award-winning film PacoimaStories: Land of Dreams, which was nominated "Best Feature Documentary" at the Pan-African Film Festival. In 2019, she released her critically acclaimed history book "The Entrance: Pacoima’s Story". This 676-page book traces the 1500-year history of the area and LA town, which is among the city’s oldest. In 2022, Crystal Jackson released her first biographical fiction, “Not Colored,” a historical novel based on the life of the first female to work in the LAPD's detective unit, who happened to be African American. Crystal Jackson's latest book release, "The Marilyn Monroe Connection," is the gripping untold true story of the young African American man forced to sign Marilyn Monroe's death certificate. Questioning her suicide cost his family, freedom, and nearly his life. The book is a compelling timeline of him meeting and falling in love with the woman of his dreams, earning the job of any Black man’s dreams, only to have it all taken away because of what he discovered about Marilyn Monroe. A hometown native of Pacoima, California, Crystal Jackson is also president of the Pacoima Historical Society, where she has become a driving community force with an extensive social media following. Her work preserving American history has garnered respect and praise at the highest levels, including from US Senator Alex Padilla and Congressman Tony Cardenas (D-CA), who recognized her work on the U.S. House Floor. Crystal has been featured on various news media outlets including ABC, CBS, PBS, Los Angeles Daily News and others.
