As an autistic man, Colin Nicholson had difficulty with writing at a young age and never planned to enter that field. However, that changed on a summer day in 2021. He imagined six youths from Nebraska who would traverse a foreign universe while navigating the difficulties of adolescence. That was the birth of the Wilderness Series. Colin Nicholson's hobbies include exercising, reading, and playing the piano. He is a personal shopper by day and is an off-ice hockey referee by night. Most of his ideas for the Wilderness Series have come while working out at Cross Kicks Fitness, officiating at Fox Valley Ice Arena, and even while shopping for other people in the aisles of Target. Colin Nicholson currently resides in the Chicago area.
