Before I left writing for a while to work "in the real world," 2 of my romances were award-winners, the 3rd a bestseller. Down the road from there—2 times—I was named as a finalist in the Pillsbury Bake-Off. Now I’m back to my true calling, though: cooking up contemporary women's fiction with a healthy dose of humor! I loved writing THE COWGIRL TAKES HER MAN and then THE FARMER TAKES HIS WIFE. Although both are standalone stories, they're part of a series set in a tiny, Texas Hill Country ranching community. And since my novels are the polar opposite of, say, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, I wanted to come up with a series title that lets you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into...without even a peek at the book’s blurb. Thus, "BITTERPILL, TEXAS 78020." At the end of all 5 of my novels, I share a little-known, super-easy family recipe with you. And at you can find my Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest finalist recipe for Enchilada Pasta Soup—the easiest and fastest recipe in the 2002 contest. If you'd like to reach out to me at, I'd love to get your email. And in the meantime, happy reading!
