Ali Araghi is an Iranian writer and translator who lives in the US. He was born and raised in Tehran where he biked across the city until it got stolen. He became a mechanical engineer, but decided he did not want to be one. He studied Ancient Culture and Languages and moved to South Bend, Indiana to do an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Notre Dame. He lived in Iowa for two years and got to enjoy watching cornfields as he drove by them. He is currently a PhD candidate of Comparative Literature, International Writers Track at Washington University in St. Louis. He lives in the Washington D.C. area.
