I’m a beast pacing around my cage waiting for the next fight. It’s all I have, those brief moments of rage and destruction. It’s a sort of freedom. Then I go back into the cold, dark emptiness.
That’s why I don’t speak anymore. What’s the point? I stopped being human a long time ago. I’ve given up on anything but that cycle of violence and isolation—until they throw him into my cage. They expect me to kill him as soon as he gets me through my injuries. That’s what I usually do. People thrown in with me make so much noise with their begging that I have to kill them to shut them up. But Lucas is different. He’s quiet. Lost. He intrigues me.
So I don’t kill him. I claim him instead.
At first, my handlers are happy. They think he makes it easier to manage me. Control the beast by controlling its possession. Beasts are simple like that.
What they don’t realize is that he’s waking up the man I used to be—and that man is a hell of a lot more dangerous than the beast.

5 - I am always so happy when I see that this author has a new book coming out and like previous books, I just devoured this. There is just something about the way this author writes romance with darker elements that really works for me (though I am typically a low angst reader). This is a captivity romance and the forced proximity aspect along with the non-verbal MC means that the way to the development of romantic feelings is very intense. Roman (The Beast) is forced to fight and in the course of fighting, he is injured a lot. Lucas has been betrayed into captivity by his stepfather - his role is to tend to Roman. As a result of their circumstances, they are forced to be together and to learn to communicate with one another. For the Beast, Lucas becomes his in every way. For Lucas, Roman gives him all the attention and protectiveness he has never before received. I love their darkness and how their emotions develop in this horrible place as well as after. I had tears in my eyes many times during this read - just the..sweetness, I guess, in their understanding of each other, how the "beast" just needed Lucas so much, how he was so soft for Lucas, so kind and protective of him....Gah! And in turn, how tenderly Lucas cared for the Beast and took care of him in so many ways. Their story, these MCs, and their love definitely got to me. Also - the spice was super hot!! This book is on the shorter side and fast paced too - be prepared for a wild ride! Loved it and can't wait for the next book.
Beast finds his beauty! Narration + story = FIRE

Possession by Rina Saint, done in duet narration with Sean Masters and Oscar Reyes, was definitely a whole vibe. This one had a plot, but let’s be honest, the spice was spicing and I was not disappointed.
The narration was done very well, another solid Blue Nose production. Sean Masters as Beast was unreal. Every time he picked up Lucas and carried him off with that possessive “mine” energy was so hot.
Oscar Reyes was a great balance to Sean, and together they really brought out the tension, obsession, and intensity between the characters. The chemistry came through strongly in the performance, which made the audio super immersive.
My only real critique is the ending and the big reveal. It felt rushed, and I wish we had a little more time to sit with that moment because it was a major plot point. It deserved more buildup and impact instead of wrapping up so quickly.
Overall, it is a great listen if you like darker romance with heavy spice and obsessive energy. I am definitely hoping we get more of these characters because I am not ready to be done with them yet.
So much spice and these VAs delivered
