After four tours in Afghanistan, Warren Groves couldn’t settle into civilian life. For the last 12 years, he’s survived by working odd and often illegal jobs for some of Denver’s less fortunate. His personal life is equally unsatisfactory. He can barely remember the last time he had sex, let alone the last time he got to use somebody hard and rough, the way he likes. I really liked this book. It’s about a troubled man and and even more troubled man coming together and eventually finding love and solace in each other. It’s gritty, and different.

I enjoyed this story to the first degree. It had a little of everything that played on my heart. Warren and Taylor's story was deep. It was on the dark side as well. I was listening to the amazing story being told by John Solo and it made be feel as if I was part of their story. I was right there when it all went down. I was wondering if they would find their HEA. And I'm glad to say, they did. I highly recommend. ENJOY!

Great Story and Great Narration

New Arthur for me. Found this audible as a recommendation so I thought I would give it a try. Loved it. Great narration. Enjoyed the angst and how the two characters grow from single to couple without really realizing that it was happening to them. The help they were to each other and falling in love. Looking forward to book 2.

Despite the questionable material (my fault for not taking the warning seriously lol), it was refreshing to have a break from the formulaic stories most romance novels follow. Or at the very least, it was nice to take a different route to the same ending. Jarring as it was, I enjoyed it in the end.

Maybe a different narrator tho...I'll admit, he's more expressive than most, but a lot of the time, he gave me major Wallace Shawn vibes, which really killed my buzz on occasion lol Also, maybe rethink his pronunciation of chauffeur...

Narrator John Solo delivered a hot, emotionally charged, dramatic gay romance with enough heat to set headphones on fire. The deep emotional scars and intrinsic turmoil within each of the characters are laid out so carefully by the author, which forces you to think about this book months after you've listened to it. I already listened to it twice this year and plan to do so again.

Not only for the hot sex scenes, but the sadness behind each character and the intelligence in character development.

I found the circumstances absolutely believable and one of the best BDSM books I've heard. I cant wait to hear the rest of the heretic dom's stories.
