Jessica Holt's only goal is survival. Keep her sick mother alive. Hold her family together. Stay out of the Heights, where power and corruption rule.

But one desperate choice changes everything.

One trespass. One forbidden touch. One king who refuses to let her go.

Kane Ravencourt isn't just anyone. He's Bleakmoor's heir, raised on money, secrets, and lies. He's the last person she should provoke.

But she did. She stole from him. She tempted the hunter instead of running. And now, she'll pay the price.

Because being noticed by Kane is dangerous.

Being wanted by him is deadly.

And together, they're a Fatal Collision.

Fatal Collision is a forbidden rich boy/poor girl, opposites attract romance.

This audiobook is narrated by Shiloh James and Devon Ryder. Devon has become a favorite narrator of mine. He fits Kane perfectly to a T and brings his character to life perfectly. Shiloh portrayed Jessica beautifully. I seriously can’t wait for the rest of the series on audio!

"You stole an orgasm from me. It's time you give it back, little thief."
Jessica — she is from the poor side of town. She’s had a rough home life. Her mother is dying from cancer and her dad is always drunk. She has a brother who keeps trying to race to bring home money, but he keeps losing because he's racing the rich boys from the other side of town. Kane appears to have it all as the heir to one of the town's founding families. He doesn’t truthfully because behind it all — he’s also struggling with a controlling father.

To short!

I don’t understand why it was so short…. Wasn’t expecting for literally nothing to happen and then it just stopped…

I went into this book with pretty high expectations because of all the buzz it has received on BookTok.

The narration was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I didn't enjoy the FMC's narrator, mainly because she gave another female character a very whiny, high-pitched voice. That's one of my biggest audiobook pet peeves, especially when there are so many other ways to differentiate characters. The MMC's narrator did a good job, but he only had a handful of chapters since the story is told almost entirely from the FMC's perspective.

As for the story, the beginning immediately caught my attention, and the power dynamic between the characters wasn't what I expected. However, at times the writing felt a little too simplistic for my personal taste.

That said, I really enjoyed the push-and-pull between the main characters. I love when an FMC doesn't let the MMC walk all over her and actually makes him earn his redemption. As the story progressed, I found myself enjoying it more and more. The ending completely surprised me, gave me a much better understanding of the MMC, and definitely left me wanting to pick up book two.

Overall, this book had its highs and lows, but it continued to build momentum, and I thought it got progressively better as it went on. I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes next.

The writing could’ve been better and the audiobook is not worth a credit unless you’re just listening for convenience purposes.
