I think the story was short but good, but I couldn't get used to the way it’s narrated. I'm sorry, I just didn't like her tone of voice, like she was going to cry.
When given a chance I’d certainly give the ebook a try.

I'm not usually a fan of novellas or shorter romance books because I feel like they usually jump into instant love or instant s*x. Although this was a very short book (novella), it still maintained the substance without unbelievably quick progression in the relationship. If I had one complaint, it would be that the characters spent too much time talking to themselves and not talking to each other. I would have preferred to see the story develop more in conversations and interactions between the characters rather than internal dialogue. Nonetheless, it was still a good, believable book.

I think I expected more based on the GoodReads reviews. I'd first like to address the narrator. She was... Not the best. It was hard to listen to this to the end.

The story line led you to believe there was goiing to be more steam. Girl falls for best friends dad. But the steam level was at a simmer. It ends with a HEA and I don't want to give too much away. It's a quick listen, not much substance. Wasn't horrible but wasn't good. I'd rate it a 2.5-3.0

This is a short and quick read or, in my case, listen. The story is fast paced and features an older man and younger lady that are snowed in together. Emmy was supposed to be going on a trip with her best friend. Instead she ends up going with Nathan, her best friends father. Emmy and Nathan end up stranded in a cabin together due to weather. Things between them get steamy! This is a cute story that is fairly fast paced. I think the narration was good for the audiobook.

“Enemies” is a real strong word here, lol. It’s more like “Fantasies of my Best Friend’s Dad: An Acquaintance I’m Slightly Intimidated by” 😂

Anyway, if you’re looking for a short, cute, and spicy read, this is a good inbetween fluff book if you’re like me and read/listen to a lot of darker and more angsty books but need a break now and then between heavier reads.

The narrator left a lot to be desired, there were times I couldn’t even tell if the narrator was reading the man or woman’s lines until pronouns were used and that definitely hurts immersion.

Enemies though?

This was okay—a quick read, lots of angst (mostly stemmed from lack of communication and assumptions) and lots of steam. A good way to pass the time while working, exercising, etc.

The author seems to have an aversion to contractions so it could sound a little odd at times, but this is minor and that’s very likely just me.

This audiobook is about a girl and her best friend that decide after graduating college to go to her family cottage. The girls father shows up to pick them up, to bad the girl doesn't. So it turns out to be just the dad and bf. One thing leads to another. Let your imagination go and the moral is that you can't tell your heart who to love.

Fast paced & cute story. If you like romance with some simmer in it, give this a read/listen. Being snowed in really made Emmy and Nathan get acquainted with each other! This story is an example of how things always happen when you’d least expect it with the person you’d least expect.

Emmy thinks Nathan is going to be a boring, billionaire banker. Nathan doesn't think he will have anything in common with a young woman who just graduated college. Emmy and Nathan end up getting snowed in together for several weeks at the cabin. One night, the relationship gets physical, then everything changes. What will happen to the relationship once Emmy and Nathan are rescued?
