Jessica Hawkins I NEED the Rest of This Series NOW

Come Undone

I stayed up WAY past my bedtime listening to this book. It is excellent - except for one thing, it is a cliffhanger! Grrrrrr! Usually, I wait until all of the books in a series or trilogy are released – however, *I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my thoughts, opinions & this review.

This book is phenomenal and I did not want it to end. The tension and frustration between Olivia & David Dylan was off the charts.

The premise of the book is this: A content and married woman meets a man who is everything she could have ever dreamed and more. Could she ever cheat on her husband? How does she deal with these feelings? Will the other man wait for her? And her husband, Bill, will you catch on to her new discontent & unhappiness?

This is an action packed with a good story line and the tug-of-war that Olivia is dealing with is brilliantly written.

This is a new to me author. I hope Jessica Hawkins is locked away writing the next book NOW. That it will be on available on Audible very soon – as in tomorrow when I do a search for Jessica Hawkins.***

***BOOK 2 IS AVAILABLE...HOORAY!
(My audio twin, Dawn did the search before I could and it's available. YES!)

Am I awful to want Book 3 done by next week?!?

The narration was incredible. Andi Arndt has a way of telling the story without being distracted by or focused on her performance. She reads and my mind takes over. I'm very impressed.

Notes: Some descriptions of mature situations, a bit of strong language and an assault from a man on a woman.

This would have to be rated R or NC–17 for the subject matter.
Stars – This is a RARE occasion that I give five stars in all categories

I'm really excited about the follow-up book. If you enjoy contemporary romance with a bit of sexy talk, I would recommend you buy it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my review. I enjoy leaving reviews, as I know that they help me decide whether I'll purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select "yes" directly below this review? Thank you so much.

Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchase a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to and well known names. I also have the unique opportunity to review books from lesser known/new authors in all genres. Most of these books are not something that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and great narrators.

Fifty shades of who? I’ll have some David Dylan please!

Andi Arndt is FREAKIN AWESOME AGAIN!

This is the first audible review I’ve written. I’ll admit as a married woman I felt a little trepidation about listening to a book about adultery. Jessica Hawkins nailed the bitter struggle within Liv as she attempted to deny the magnetic pull towards David and did it without tarnishing Bill. When the moment we had all been waiting for finally arrived...IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I have not listened yet to an audiobook that made me feel as though I were in the exact same moment, the exact same emotions, betrayal, attraction and lust. The detailed description of the way David made Liv feel made my heart literally ache for both Liv and David. Such a great book. Can’t wait to see what happens next! Highly RECOMMEND!

Hottttt

OMG where has this book been all this time. It is smoking. I don’t condone cheating at all especially being a married woman and all. But I must say the way that Olivia’s husband has treated her was not the best. To meet a man who wants to treasure her and her needs is a keeper except.... there were some mixed signals for a while. Now onto the next two books. I’m nervous because I love the HEA’s and as of right now I need her to be with David.... fingers crossed

Not a cheater fan but love Andi Arndt

I dove into this series because it was recommended. I was pulled into it with the first few chapters and Andi is phenomenal as always...she makes the listening experience all worth while. Wow...I love David Dillion and what he sees in Olivia. She needs to get out of marriage that is just satisfactory....not mind blowing...their marriage has become complacent. Interesting to see what the second book will lead to...but it is filled with angst, good friends and tug and pull of desired and unattainable relationship until one breaks down and gives in....until reality sets in.

Far exceeded my expectations...

Where does Come Undone rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I rarely listen to audio books, but this one is tops.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Olivia. I think we can all relate to her... even a little.

What does Andi Arndt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotion. When you're reading a book, you don't always get all the emotion in a character's words like you do when you hear it read.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I LOVE this book (and this series). Hearing it just solidified my love.

Any additional comments?

Audio books can be hit or miss. It's tough when you have one person reading the voices for multiple characters. I wasn't sure how David Dylan would come across, in a woman's voice. At one point, I forgot it was a woman reading and just heard David.

Amazing start to series. Super sexy.

Lots of angst and a good depiction of a marriage in trouble. I love the chemistry between David and Olivia.

Keeps you on the edge ... hot!!

The story does start off very slow. It's about David... but David who? He doesn't show up till many chapters go by. But when he does show up... my oh my... you'll be on the edge till the end. But where's the end... off to book 2... then to book 3.

I'm currently on book 3 (not finished), but I must tell you... Olivia learns the art of whinning, second guessing herself and more whinning. I don't know if I want to finish because I just want to grab her shoulders and shake the crap out of her!! errrrr

The story does drag and drag... always having you anticipate what's going to happen... makes you hungry and keeps you on edge.

The first book is really good and yes the second one is too. The third... I'm not sure.

Eligible bachelor...married woman

Come Undone is about the unplanned and unexpected attraction between a married woman and a unobtainable playboy. Olivia and Bill have been married for almost five years. They are both career driven individuals who balance time between friends and themselves. With no children to tie them down they are free to go in weekend trips and work away from home.
Bill pursued Olivia at work asking her on a date until she finally said, “yes”. Olivia never gave the idea of marriage much thought. She knew she didn’t want an abusive relationship. She found contentment and safety in her marriage to Bill until he pressured her for more.
Olivia works an Assistant editor for the Chicago Metropolitan Magazine. Her assignment is to interview Chicago’s Most Eligible Bachelors and Bachelorettes. For years the magazine has wanted to interview David Dylan for the article. Not until Olivia became the editor did David finally agree. Sparks buzzed between them as they found themselves tangled together by the same social circles.
Overall:
It’s more than seduction. It’s drawing ones mind out of the fog sense of complacency. Jessica teeters the edge of forbidden wickedly. She has me craving all the wrong reasons for cheating. How can it be wrong when it feels so right?
Come Undone will have you questioning your morals between right and wrong. Certain lines will be crossed, yet under the circumstances they will have you confused if they are being unfaithful.
Jessica is my go to girl when I’m in the mood for a good sexy read. What’s better is her ability to write a well thought out and thought provoking cheating romance.
He’s the other man, but I’m certain you will fall in love with David for his motives are purely sinful. He’s a man devoted to making Olivia his.
Stories such as these bring about much debate. I love both the positive and negative comments this story produces. The battle is real. The feelings are strong. The pain is heartbreaking. The pleasure is addictive.
Narrator:
Andy Arndt is the queen of audiobook romance. Andy brought Olivia’s character to life. Andy is a narrator, producer, and coach. She is a household name in the audiobook world. When I see her name attached to an audiobook I know I’m getting my money’s worth. Quality work is what you’ll get. She’s a top performer and an award winning artist.
