Publisher's summary

My head roars...resist! My heart screams...surrender!

Seth Durant and his alpha brothers don’t have a lot of incentive to tell anyone they’re wolf shifters. As unregistered shifters living in secrecy, their very existence is technically illegal. Keeping that secret at all costs has been the number one rule the Durant brothers have lived by for nearly their entire lives.

As soon as he sees the beautiful, goofy, messy former Olympian, straight-laced Seth knows he’s met someone who just might change his life forever. Determined to get closer to Sarah while also determined to keep his family’s secret, Seth has to balance the life of being a human man with the life of being a wolf shifter in an inhospitable world.

Sarah, as drawn to Seth as he is to her, can’t understand why the kind, generous hottie next door is so secretive. She’s never known someone to be so desperate to know her while also throwing up so many roadblocks. With a complicated family history of her own, Sarah has to decide whether Seth is worth all the secrets. And when his secret is blown, she has to decide if she’ll be able to live outside the law with the love of her life.

This is the first book in the "Forbidden Shifters" Series, but can also be listened to as a standalone. No cliffhangers. For adults only

one mate found

Sarah was hard for me to like, because I don't do lazy, arrogant, procrastinators. She took advantage of Seth's compulsion for order and neatness. How can a female be such a slob with no shame??? Towards the end Sarah shows another side and some maturity and becomes palatable. The Chalk sisters seem like freeloaders and are always hovering around the three brothers- stalkerish and perry at times. I hated that the shifters had to hide because of some evil people hunting them. Looking forward to more. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

Great story

As usual, Selena delivers a great shifter story.

Sarah has dumped her career and moved as far away from her father as she can get to start a new life. Her current home needs a few improvements, furniture would be nice, but she will get around to unpacking and fixing the place up later. When the good-looking buttoned-down neighbor with the picture perfect house and yard shows up at her door to welcome her to the neighborhood, she was skeptical of his pretty boy offers of help.

Seth and his brothers are shifters in a world where this fact must be hidden if you didn't want to end up in a shifter camp being "helped" into an early grave. When he meets his new neighbor for the first time he does not make a good impression, with insulting her aunt and repeating himself and all. There is something about her that he really likes though, and he is determined to figure out a way to get her house in order. Just the kind of project he needs to keep him sane between full moons.

Find out what happens when Seth finds himself falling for a human that he can never endanger by telling her about his shifter side. I can't wait for Raphael's and Jackson's stories, and something tells me their adopted mother, Elizabeth, may have her own story. I was given a copy of this audiobook by the author. My review is voluntary.
