Audible today announced an exclusive, multi-project development deal with Plan B Entertainment, the Oscar and Emmy-winning production company helmed by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. The first project from the collaboration, “A Summer Love Thing,” by Bradford Young is in active development.

As part of the worldwide deal, which marks Plan B’s first foray into audio entertainment, the production company will create a slate of Audible Originals. Plan B, the team behind multiple acclaimed film and television series joins a sweeping roster of Hollywood elite recently signing exclusive audio deals with Audible.

The deal’s inaugural project, "A Summer Love Thing", is a love story from Oscar, Emmy, and BAFTA nominated cinematographer Bradford Young. It follows a woman who leaves her successful singing career to return to her Southern hometown and pursue her first love, a blue-collar worker, for the second time. Moody, lyrical and ethereal, as is all of Bradford’s work, this story uses Southern soundscapes to evoke a place, space and time.

Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner: “We are thrilled to collaborate with the dynamic team at Audible, who are leaders in this space, and who share our commitment to quality storytelling wherever audiences find and engage with it.”

Zola Mashariki, Head of Audible Studios, commented: “It is beyond exciting for us to work with Plan B as they move into the audio sphere. Brad, Dede, and Jeremy are devoted to the craft of storytelling and production and we can’t wait to hear the magic they bring to audio.” She added, “Our first project out of the gate, ‘A Summer Love Thing,’ is bound to be something truly special as Bradford Young and Plan B have long focused on sharing original perspectives. Bradford has impressed audiences far and wide with his unparalleled talent and we are thrilled to be working together.”

This deal follow Audible’s production and development deals with top industry creatives such as President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground, George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures, Hillman Grad Productions founded by Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani, Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit, Broadway Video Enterprises, Topic Studios, Treefort Media, Kevin Hart’s HartBeat Productions, Charlamagne tha God’s CTHAGOD World Productions, and The SpringHill Company, founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter.
