Myron never saw it coming. A surprise visit from an ex-girlfriend is unsettling enough. But Emily Downing's news brings him to his knees. Her son Jeremy is dying and needs a bone-marrow transplant, from a donor who vanished without a trace. Then comes the real shock: the boy is Myron's son, conceived the night before her wedding to another man.

In the last six years Harlan Coben has gone from being a critically acclaimed, but modest-selling, US crime author to being an international best seller and global brand. He has done this with a searing selection of stand-alone novels.

A fast paced mystery with humour

Probably as I found the production together with the story to be entertaining and I enjoy the humour

Myron Bolitar is summoned to Paris at the behest of an old lover, Therese. She is in trouble and needs his help. When he gets there, he discovers that her ex-husband has been murdered and she is the main suspect. The interesting thing is that more than one blood-type has been discovered at the scene - and the other blood can only be attributed to the dead man's daughter. But she died 10 years before.

Myron Bolitar has always dreamed about the femme fatale walking into his office and asking for help. The woman standing in his doorway has killer curves all right: She’s eight months pregnant, which kind of ruins the fantasy. Former tennis star Suzze T and her rock star husband, Lex, are both clients, and over the years Myron has negotiated his share of contracts for the power pair. But now Lex has disappeared and a very pregnant Suzze is in tears, fearing the online rumors questioning the baby’s paternity have driven away Lex.

    As always, great read

One of my favorite authors, always keeps me interested and thinking. The characters are interesting and the stories always believable.
