A RITA award-winning novel from the New York Times bestselling author of An Unwilling Bride.

"Today's most skillful writer of intelligent historical romance" (Publishers Weekly, starred review) takes listeners into the heart of the most mysterious, most powerful, most seductive Georgian aristocrat of them all: the Marquess of Rothgar.

Two of the strongest wills in England clash when Lord Rothgar is commanded by the king to escort the fiercely independent Diana Westmount, Countess of Arradale, to London. Though Rothgar has become a master at resisting temptation, Diana proves a challenge to his steely resolve. A moment of peril—and a night of passion—melt his icy self-control, and he must find the strength to surrender his heart to another . . .

One of my favorites. I enjoy the whole series. Wonderful story and performance. I have listened more than once.

Great character development

This was an enjoyable story and it was so nice to read Rothgars story finally! He and Diana had great chemistry. It was fun to see as these two people who had never wanted to get. married, navigated through the situations and emotions that changed that resolve. Susan Duerden did a great job. I really enjoy her narration. There was one very very annoying part of the story and boy howdy did SD relay it well! The King says "What What" wwwaaayyyy tttoooo mmmuucchhh! But the story is worth the annoyance. I suspect it was intended to come across as annoying as it was. Haha

I got this book for the sale price of $2.55 and it definitely was well worth it. I very rarely spend a credit on just one book some saying I wouldn't spend a whole credit on itdoesn't really count. However I totally feel itsworth a 2 for sale.

I enjoyed very much

What a great story! One of my favorites in the series. What made it even better was that SD was the narrator. A great listen.
