About this listen

Become enchanted by the fantasy world of gods and mortals in bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair's reimagined New Greece. Listeners are "hopelessly addicted" to the story of Hades and Persephone told from Hades's point of view.

Hades, God of the Dead, does not take sides or bend the rules. He makes no exceptions to these values—not for god or mortal, even his lover, Persephone, Goddess of Spring.

Usually, fear prevents retaliation.

But not this time.

When Hera, Goddess of Women, approaches Hades with a plan to overthrow Zeus, he declines to offer help. As punishment, Hera sentences Hades to perform a series of labors. Each feat seems more impossible than the last and draws his attention away from Persephone—whose own tragedy has left her questioning whether she can be Queen of the Underworld.

Can Hades maintain the balance he craves?

Contains mature themes.

Really enjoy hades POV BUT (and I don’t know who’s fault this is) the pronunciation of Leuce in this book was different than in A Touch of Ruin Persephone POV and it drove me insane. I thought it was a nickname Hades had for her and then I realized that was not the case, then thought maybe the author changed it but NOPE. Hopefully moving forward the two stories can get on the same page with how they pronounce Leuce in the recordings because it was really distracting.

Enjoying the stories, issue with the audio.

I love this Saga. It is truly a work of art. I will however say sometimes when the male narrator uses female voices it sounds a bit funny. As well as the words they read in the narration is not the same as what is written in the physical book sometimes. I tend to listen to the book and read along with the physical copy and have noticed this in this one and in others in the series. Some of the names are pronounced differently too from the male narrator and female narrator. For example the name Leuce.

Great Saga!

I continue to prefer Hades POV, but compared to Persephone’s it lacks detail. The gaps are filled in with what I know from A Touch of Ruin, so definitely read those first. Hades POV also redeems Persephone’s whiney, immature behavior a bit. However, the newness has worn off and the 🌶️ no longer makes up for the lack of plot, so here’s to hoping books 3 dives a little deeper on the world of Olympia and the gods.

Overall a good, easy read, and it ended on a cliffhanger that will bring me back for the third installment.

I love this story and I love seeing Hades POV. But the narrator!! He mispronounced Leuce and I cringed every single time!! And his voice honestly I don’t think I’ll listen to the next one of Hades’ POV because I really can’t stand this narrator.

I love this series and I have been alternating between Persephone POV and Hades POV and now I can official say I love Hades much more. In this book you get to see what happened all the times he seemed "absent" in Persephone's A touch of Ruin. I cannot wait to get to the next book and see what happens next, I am thoroughly absorbed in their world.

Loved Hades POV

“loose” is what hey calls “LAY-O-KEY” and he also pronounces “Heck-a-tee” wrong several times

Not a good narrator he doesn’t know how to pronounce key characters names
