Publisher's summary

This far into my magical 40 makeover, I thought I'd seen it all. That I knew it all.

Boy, was I wrong.

After I'd found my Elven grandfather, Laslow, and brought him back to the human world, I was convinced that my life was on the upswing. Things with Hunter were good. Grams and mom were happy. And it seemed all the fires in my life had been put out.

I could've left well enough alone...but I still had lingering questions about the hate between the fae and the witches. They say knowing your history can give you the tools to shape your future. But when you creep into the past, you're bound to find things you don't like.

Especially with a past like mine.

I'd never belong anywhere as long as the two parts of me were enemies, so I decided it was time to completely shake things up and defeat the evil King Inueya of the fae world and reunite our lands. Go big or go home, right?

So now, here I am, spandex and all, in a completely foreign world while I attempt to find the true ruler of the land of the fae. If only I could go back and tell my 39-year-old self what sort of craziness she was about to dive into.

Entertaining

I got the audiobook for this one and Traci Odom really brought life to all the characters. Wow, what a talent to be able to do that so beautifully. Naturally, I always enjoy stories by Melinda Chase. Love the ending also!!! Read it or listen to find out for yourself! ❤

Good Read

Only weeks after returning home with her grandfather, Shannon, Hunter, Laslo, and Tanya embark on a trek to dethrone the evil Fae King, but the price may be too high.

This book was good, but the discord between Shannon and Hunter marred it somewhat. Shannon was much less likable than usual. I hope this won't carry over to the next book. The relationship between the two is an important element in the story. Nonetheless, the book is good and worth the time, not to mention integral to the saga.

Enjoyed

This book kept me on the edge of my seat or pacing around while listening. A great addition to the series. I became more and more annoyed with Shannon (mc) as the book progressed. I dont remember it in previous books or maybe her attitude was forgivable given everything she was having thrown at her to deal with in previous books. But her self righteous and judgmental attitude got worse than ever. I hope she has a reckoning in the next books! It's well deserved!
