Publisher's summary

Save the bees, ride a rock star.

Formerly famous...and planning to keep it that way.

After my band kicked me out, I ran away to Vermont, changed my name, and kept my head down. So far, it's working and nobody knows who I am. Or who I was. Until I see geeky poet Caleb stumbling through his first open mic night and I can't help rescuing him. He's as sweet as the honey my bees make and sexy enough to make me rethink so many things. But I can't tell him my secret, or I'll lose the anonymous life I worked so hard to build.

Everyone warns me he's too good to be true.

I can't believe a gorgeous, successful winemaker like Tag is into shy, geeky little accountant me. But he helps me blossom and believe in my talent, and works his way into my heart and my bed...not necessarily in that order. I'm falling for a man for the first time, and now I know what the missing number in my equation has always been.

When lies are revealed, though, someone's going to get stung....

Contains mature themes.

overall it's a good story!

My only issue is the narration for Caleb. He made him sound like a squeaky tiny teenager.

Good narration. Decent story.

E Davies' books usually have honey sweet romance and bees. This book did not disappoint on either one of those subjects. The story also had a character with some diva-like personality traits, and it isn't the one you would expect.

I enjoyed parts of the story, but the main conflict didn't work for me. I don't view withholding personal information as a lie. Especially when that personal information is associated with traumatic memories.

Overall, the narration was performed well, but I didn't like the faint lisp for Caleb. I am sure that the it suited the character, but it is one of the few narrating techniques the narrator does not excel at.

I like Davies' sweet and romantic storytelling approach, and I appreciate the variety in this series. This wasn't one of my favorite books, but I did learn something from the story so it was worth the read.

Yikes 😬

I have listened to all the V&V books and this is by far the biggest let down👎.

The storyline was kinda cute all together but it doesn't go well with the other books in this series. The Narration of Caleb has him sounding like a nasally, giggling little girl. Not a 26 year old man.

The break up plot was weak as hell and way too dramatic for only a week after meeting 😞

Luckily this book was on sale for $2 when I finally bought it so I don't feel like it was a total waste.

The Narration of Caleb was so annoying I skipped through a lot of the book to get to the juicy parts.

Good story

This was a nice story but the conflict was a little childish. I mean I get that they had to be a part for a while but the reason could of been better. But still it’s good story

Let down

I have listened to all but one of the Vino and Veritas series. I have loved all but one and thought it was just ok BUT this book is by far the worst story of them all. I was so disappointed. I wanted to stop listening after the first 20 minutes.
It took be a bit to decide whether it was the writing or the narrators or both that I had issues with. I am avid followers of both narrators. So after serious consideration- it’s a combination of both.

The story line is so poorly written and unrealistic you can’t even get into it. I felt like I was reading about two 10 year olds and not two 20+year olds. Zero storyline to speak of. I just don’t have anything nice to say.

As for the narrators- individual they are great - but a complete mismatch on this audiobook. They do not compliment each other at all. Maybe that goes back to the incredible poor writing- but they could not even save this audiobook reading. This was a complete waste of my money and a complete disappointment.
