Publisher's summary

A war has broken out in the galaxy! The great spacefaring races are all entangled in the fight, and even at the very edge of the known universe, humanity can hear the echoes of its distant bloody battles. Our suzerains and defenders, the Geckho, are also caught up in this all-encompassing conflict. Is that a good thing for humanity or not?

The answer is up for debate. On the one hand, the Geckho will no longer take the trouble to defend a planet inhabited by people, which is worrying. But on the other, might humanity have the chance to make a name for itself and take a more active role in interstellar politics?

Gnat is with the Shiamiru crew on the front lines. He's just changed class to Listener, and his friends find themselves right in the thick of this grand interstellar war....

This is for reality benders book 1-4

It’s a good series so far that keeps the same narrator throughout and he does great voice acting and has no issues coming up with voices for the many various characters. Only complaint for narration is in book 4 he changes the voice he uses for a semi main character drastically and horribly a chipmunk would sound better.
The story is good first couple books are better, 3-4 start getting a little more unusual, they start repeating his stats more frequently to fill room in the books, and by book 4 I’m starting to question how much longer the book will continue as the main plot seems to be less and less important and more meandering, but this is a great book series overall that I have loved and will continue to listen to.

I love this series.

I can't wait for book four and will buy it immedietly. Plot wise it still goes on with the best of them but I would not complain one bit if the narrator stopped and a new one was braught on. My god is this guy bad.

These books are awesome.

Hands down enjoyably. Wow, I mean well worth your time. It is what litrpg should be, stats with an actual story.

The voices

The female voices hurt my brain. The narrator took it to far on some of the voices.

Way of the Shaman callback

Kudos to the author for slipping in a Way of the Shaman reference towards the middle of the book. If you're not "in the know" this would have been easy to miss and served as a fun call out to one of the best litRPG series I've listened to. I now find myself listening even more closely to see if there are other Easter eggs hidden in the stories. I feel like these books keep getting better and better. Looking forward to book 4.

If I did have one issue - the leveling pace is insane for the main character. He seems to be leveling in months, what clearly has taken many decades for most other characters. Seems like a lot more capable characters around our protagonist would have also figured out how to level so quickly if this was always possible. Easy to forgive due to a great story, but hopefully this is addressed in later books and gotten under control.

Great read, great series, gamer or not!

I’ve played some video games, but am not a gamer. This series was such a fun adventure! Great characters, plot development, and entertaining as hell! Great read, great ride!
