Publisher's summary

Trapped in a dungeon. There's only one way out. Kill or be killed....

An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated Earth into its System. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true, like living out a dream.

For Daniel, however, it's closer to a nightmare.

He's in a bit of a predicament. Cracks in our dimensional fabric have unleashed terrifying beasts from dark, abyssal places. Schema organizes these cracks into dungeons, giving the native species of the planet a chance to fight back.

Daniel finds himself stuck in one of these dungeons. It's time to break free, by any means necessary.

Experience the start of an action-packed LitRPG apocalypse series with nearly 15 million views on Royal Road.

One of the best books I’ve read in years

I typically go through about 15-20 books a year of various genres and wow… I couldn’t put this one down. Don’t think I’m ever reading anything other than LitRPGs now.

Finally!

I've been waiting for this book since I first discovered the original draft on Royal Road.com. The story is intense but doesn't try to be anything other than a good listen and read. Can't wait for the next one!

cataclysmic

it was a brilliant book standing by most fantasy by delving deep into character development without speeding through it going too far into it.

Great Story

Im a bit Biased Ive heard this story Narrated by another almost a year ago from me posting this, It not fair for me to compare but there were many pronunciation of name butchered by Cronin. The Story itself Is by far the best ive come across over the years ive been listening/watching Stories. The thing in particular in this story Is Schema Skill System very robust and lots of thought put into it making it very complex yet simple to start in/with. If anyone reads This by all means read this story or Listen to it and be ready for the books to come the story gets intense in later chapters.

Great writing

The fights are in such great detail very good writing. I would have liked the male /female voices preformed by separate people it sounds better but still a good book.

Finally, no woke.

If you enjoy a leveling journey with a strong and slightly apathetic male lead like in Primal Hunter and He who fights with monsters, you will most likely enjoy this. If you are looking for a browbeat male main character who spends more time shopping with points than leveling or fighting, this may not be for you.

MC is an idiot

Great world building, Bonehead MC believes and trust people way to fast. Pretty women, let me tell her all my secrets even though she tries to kill me multiple time

Narrator sounds bored

I broke and got this on Kindle instead because the narrator has almost no personality in the reading. It gave the same vibes of a junior high student during popcorn reading. I couldn't tell if there was supposed to be punctuation or not, and I couldn't really tell who was supposed to be talking. Seems like an interesting story, but I'd check it on a different platform instead

Fun Book

If you like He Who Fights, then odds are good you’ll like this one too. It’s a fun story. Narrator can drone a bit, but character voices are on point.
