Publisher's summary

Everyone knows Miz Poppy, the vibrant reviewer whose commentary brightens the New Orleans nightlife. But no one knows Hollyn, the real face behind the media star...or the fear that keeps her isolated. When her boss tells her she needs to add video to her blog or she’ll lose her job, she's forced to rely on an unexpected source to help her face her fears.

When aspiring actor Jasper Deares finds out the shy woman who orders coffee every day is actually Miz Poppy, he realizes he has a golden opportunity to get the media attention his acting career needs. All he has to do is help Hollyn come out of her shell...and, through their growing connection, finally find her voice.

WOW - a new fave author and series!

Wow, just WOW - this book was a pick because of Instagram/Bookstagram influence, and it absolutely did not let me down. It was just incredible and let me tell you, YOU HAVE TO READ IT! 6 star rating, if that was possible! So good, with a main character battling so many things and winning at life (actually, both of them)!

Hollyn suffers from both anxiety and Tourette's, and has stopped hiding herself at home with her work-from-home freelance writing career and got herself an office in one of those buildings where you rent an office among other people with freelance type jobs that want to be working among other people and be social. She doesn't want to be a shut-in any longer, even with all of the anxiety and trying to hide the tics that Tourette's brings (for her, mostly physical and not verbal). She wants to try to live her life in the world, now that she has moved to New Orleans and is on her own for the first time. She has started to interact with some people and make new friends with office-mates. She's succeeding!

Enter Jasper, the brand new barista at the building's coffee shop. He overwhelms her on his first day trying to be way too friendly, not realizing that she's shrinking away in her anxiety. He is overcompensating, as he has always done and learned with the acting and comedy he's fallen into, being a foster child and having such a difficult childhood and past. Not a great combination, these 2! Or is it? Maybe Jasper can help her to learn how to come out of her shell. Enter the agreement that he can teach her improv lessons to become more social and she can pretend to be in a relationship with him to help with investors for a new idea he has for a business. It will also all help with the online articles she writes under an assumed name that her boss wants to reveal publicly. It'll all work out fine - right? Right?!

This is an absolute MUST-READ for everyone! It is extremely steamy and just so darn well-written and tackles the anxiety, difficult foster childhood past, and Tourette's with such grace, that I can't stress enough how beautiful of a story it is!

An Audible love story even a guy will enjoy!

First let me say I hate Chick Lit, RomCom's, and Hallmark Movies. However, the story line seemed clever, so I thought I'd give it a go. Boy, was I impressed! Not just with the story, but the narration was one of the best I'd ever listened to. Congrats to author and narrator. You won't know the end of the story until the very end. However, enjoy the clever dialog, great narration, intrigue, wit, twists and turns, and repartee. There was even story line of mommy sex for the soft core enthusiasts. I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but I will probably listen to another Roni Loren book providing it is narrated by Desiree Ketchum.

Predictable but good

I liked the premise of the story but it was extremely predictable. I also am not into such long sex scenes. If a story is really good, detailed sex scenes are unnecessary. The narrator was good, I believed the different characters. I’m not sure I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 30 though.
