Publisher's summary

Narrated in duet by Alastair Haynesbridge and Sophie Daniels, this is the first book in the hilarious, spicy small town Queen's Cove series.

My arrogant fake fiancé? I can't stand him.

Cocky and charismatic Emmett Rhodes isn’t the relationship kind of guy, but now that he’s running for mayor of our small town, his bachelor past is hurting the campaign.

Thankfully, I'm the last woman who would ever fall for him.

We're total opposites—he's a golden retriever and I'm sharp and snarky, but he’ll cosign on my restaurant loan if I play his devoted fiancée. Between romantic dates, a prom night re-do, and visits to a secret beach, things heat up, and the line between real and ruse is lit on fire. I see another side of Mr. Popular, and now I wonder if I was all wrong.

We can’t keep our hands off each other, but it’s all for show…right?

A sizzling, hilarious, enemies-to-lovers fake dating rom-com with an HEA. This is the first book in the Queen’s Cove series.

Duet Style! Small town fake dating

This is a new to me author. I loved that there wasn’t a third act break up. Good spicy. Good story. Will continue with series

great performance and cute story

the story flowed nicely but did seem a little rushed at the end. the characters banter back and forth was great and there were many times I literally laughed out loud at them. the narrators where perfect for the characters and really brought them to life. can't wait to listen to the next one in the series.

Cute small town fake relationship romance!

I liked this a lot, it’s an easy read and I liked the progression of frenemies to lovers. Avery is independent and her only goal in the next few years is to buy the restaurant she manages and fulfill her dream of owning the restaurant. Emmett loves people, his family, friends, and has never met a stranger. He needs a new challenge and notices there’s a change needed in town hall and decides to run for mayor so the town he loves can get the much-needed upgrades. The polls aren’t as favorable as he’d like — enter an agreement with Avery to boost his family man/trustworthy mayoral candidacy and a way to secure Avery’s dream restaurant! It’s funny, cute, spicy, heartwarming.

Loved

I received an ARC of this and loved it, it took me a while to warm to the female narrator, but I’ve added a new favourite male narrator to my list! I read the book last year and loved and loved the audio, I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Love a small town romance and enemies to lovers vibe

I had read the That Kind of Guy ebook last month so I was excited to receive an ARC of this audiobook. This audiobook really made Emmett and Avery’s characters come to life and I loved the narrators. I am all about small town romance and enemies to lovers vibes with just the right amount of spice and witty banter; and That Kind of Guy had that. I’m normally not a big fan of fake dating/fake engagement trope but it worked for this story and this element made the spice and the banter better than what I was expecting.

I definitely would recommend to friends to listen to audio as well as read the rest the series to still get a glimpse of Emmett and Avery in their friends and families.

P.S. We love turtles over here. Sorry, Emmett. Lol

Cute Listen!

This book was really fun to listen to. I couldn't put it down and devoured it in two days...which is not normal for me for an audiobook haha. I adored Emmett and Avery's relationship. How they went from bickering to tolerating to falling in love with each other. Throw in a fake fiance/marriage of covenicence and you've got an instant win from me! lol.

I really enjoyed listening to this audio - um hello duet narration which is probably the best thing ever! The narrators were super easy to listen to!

Overall, if you want a light, fun, SPICY, rom-com with no 3rd act breakup - start here! Also - it takes place in Canada so that's another WIN from me!!!

Kind of My Thing

Rating: 5⭐️3🌶️

Tropes:
Fake Dating
Small Town Romance
Cocky Rich MMC
Prickly Independent FMC
Enemies to Lovers

Vibes:
I demolished this audiobook! It was fantastic! Stephanie writes such entertaining characters with surprising depth. Emmett Rhodes is the sexy, cocky, swoon-worthy MMC with a huge heart. Avery Adams is our gorgeous boss babe with big dreams. From hard-headed sparring to falling hard - I was captivated! The spice was sooo good! The banter was hilarious. All the turtle (yes the reptile) moments had me rolling.

10/10 MUST read for all the small town romcom readers!

Avery Adams is so close to achieving her life long dream of owning a successful restaurant. The Arbutus is that dream-if only the bank didn’t require a co-signer. Now the whole town seems to know she was rejected by the bank. Why does the only solution have to involve fake dating the schmooziest most infuriatingly gorgeous man in town?!

Emmett Rhodes is successful and gorgeous and single. Who knew that his relationship status would come back to bite him during his mayoral campaign?! But he’s also a self-proclaimed genius who has the best idea! If said idea happens to rile up and fake date the gorgeous wannabe restaurant owner - so be it!

Lovely story

This was a really nice, lighthearted and funny story. The female narrator was amazing, but I did notice the male narrator seemed like he has some breathing problems. Every few words he’d really loudly gasp for air like he’d just been holding his breath underwater, and it did take me out of the story a bit. I’ve never noticed any other narrator do this to that extent. But overall I’m really excited for more audiobooks from this author
