Publisher's summary

Would your family survive in lockdown if society were to collapse? Learn how to prepare your home now.

We are used to a world in which our homes are supplied with fresh water, gas, and electricity. We’re used to having our waste removed and our sanitary needs met.

These are all things we’ve come to expect, but what would happen if they were taken away?

Flooding, hurricanes, and pandemics are affecting areas we once thought were safe from disaster—we shouldn’t take anything for granted.

In When Crisis Hits Suburbia: A Modern-Day Prepping Guide to Effectively Bug in and Protect Your Family Home in a Societal Collapse, you’ll discover exactly what you need to know to prepare your home for an emergency.

You’ll find:

  • The six key priorities of survival and how to make sure you have them covered
  • A clear guide for knowing when it’s time to stay in, and when it’s time to evacuate
  • Top prepper survival secrets so that you always stay one step ahead of the rest
  • A toolbox of information that allows you to choose what works best for your family
  • Practical tips for preparing your children for worst-case scenarios without frightening them
  • How to make sure your water supply is 100 percent safe at all times
  • Comprehensive checklists for everything you need to stock in your home
  • Essential administrative tasks you should have sorted in advance before a disaster strikes
  • And much more

The ideal home is not only the home that keeps you and your family safe in good times, but it’s the home that keeps you safe no matter what.

Preparing your home to be just that doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does require you to think outside of what you’re used to.

When was the last time you asked yourself, “What if…?”

Better than I Expected

When I started this book, I didn't expect much but I was very pleasantly surprised by the approach the author took to emphasize what is really practical, not just what is fashionable. Very family centered too. Highly recommend.

A must-have in every library

I have just finished listening to When Crisis Hits Suburbia, and it is by far the best prepping book I have EVER listened to! The author, Ted Riley, goes into so much detail about food prep and storage, water storage and filtration for the long term and short term, as well as ways to secure your home that don’t involve putting a loaded gun in every corner of your home. I particularly loved the laid-back and relatable way he wrote the book, and listening to it felt like listening to a big brother help you get your preps sorted.

Great starting point/synopsis…

I am a student of many things. This is one area of study. I think this author has pointed out some things that are sorely missing from most Emergency Preparedness type books, videos, and the like. It’s a great start!!!

I wish I had this book years ago!!!

I am blown away! Not only does the author deliver the information in an easy-to-follow and down-to-earth manner that doesn’t leave you feeling like the world is going to turn into something from Mad Max overnight, but he discusses more than the basics. He considers things like how to defend your home if you can’t have a dog or live in a country where getting a firearm is a difficult process, he doesn’t fill the book with links to buy products, and while he gives great info, he encourages the listener to think for themselves and their personal set of circumstances. Great book. If you haven’t listened to it, you’re doing yourself a disservice.
