Publisher's summary

Fresh off his success in the New York Times bestselling Countdown to Midnight, Nick Flynn finds himself once again facing a vicious enemy—one determined to destroy the United States.

When Nick Flynn left the US Air Force to join the Quartet Directorate, he did so with the full knowledge that no one could ever know. This covert private force—called Four by its members—promised him the chance to lead his own missions and make his own decisions, though the risks are high. When a former senior CIA executive goes dark, Flynn and his team—including the daring Laura Van Horn—are ready to step in. What begins as a quiet check on his home turns into a firefight against a familiar enemy who is more dangerous than ever.

Russian oligarch Pavel Voronin and his shadowy Raven Syndicate are back in action, supported by Russia’s aging and autocratic president. Voronin intends to unleash a new force of advanced stealth aircraft against the US in order to make Moscow supreme and cement his own rise to power. With millions of lives at stake, Flynn and his team must track Voronin’s operatives and mount a risky counterattack deep into hostile territory. If they fail, the consequences will be horrific. But failure isn’t an option—not for Nick Flynn.

Spellbound

clear, easy to follow. lots of filler to lengthen story somewhat distracting if reader has a military background. Still entertaining

Great story.

I think just as good as all others. It’s a good follow on to the last. Just as fun for me.

The experimental military equipment used in the Cuba Raid.

Excellent series which happily looks to not have ended. That’s good news!

The positioning of the CIA as an inept bureaucracy that is focused on covering their rear ends fits the impression so many Americans have today so whether it’s accurate or not, it makes a great story.

Could Be

I see nothing that doesn’t make this a great read. My only critique is the belief that ther was so little nuclear destruction in Kansas after bombs exploded. Once again Dale Brown has done his homework. Looking forward to the next book and ow up.

Best in a long time

Story and tech aspects combine with good action sequences make for a boisterous ride. Narrator was not as good as other series however. Still highly recommend

Good story. Narration sounds like a children’s book

I listened to the last two in this series and they just couldn’t hold my attention despite the good story. I finally came to the conclusion that the narrator makes everything, even the action sequences and especially the good guys, sound like he’s reading fairy tales to a four year old.

Good story. Need more of that blistering action that they’ll describe so well.

Was a great story But missed that riveting action as in the iron wolf stories.

Time to say goodbye to "Pavel Voronin"

It's been a great series but Pavel Voronin is back again in Book 4 so it's time to say goodbye...
