Publisher's summary

The deal was sealed the moment she stepped onto that stage. It was like seeing a ghost: sunshine-blonde hair, pale skin, azure eyes that held a thousand secrets. I didn’t know what caused her to end up on that auction block, and I didn’t care. All I knew was that I had to have her - no matter the cost. A million dollars later, she became mine. Mine to break. Mine to use. Mine to keep.

This stand-alone novel contains dark themes, including those involving sex and violence - but, as always, there’s a happily-ever-after and no cheating.

Violent but Nee Beginning

I loved how Fallon tried to comfort the young girl in the auction, even though she was just as scared herself. Markus and his alpha super possessiveness over Fallon just because she happened to resemble someone from his past was sweet. I thought it was funny how long it took him to realize that he actually had real feelings for her not just as her captor.

Violent Beginnings – Fallon and Markus

Fallon and Markus each had their own agendas when Markus paid $1 million for her. She betrayed him by trying to make a phone call and then lied about who she was trying to call. He punished her by leaving her in the cellar for a week. It killed him to do it and he almost drank himself into a stupor. Violent Beginnings is appropriately named for this book. For me, the first half of the book was a little slower than the second half where more action took place as well as some secrets about her mission and her family were divulged. Lucca ends up betraying Julian and Markus so his book should be really good. Alastair Haynesbridge and Samantha Summers did a great job with the narration.

I can't with this one.

I've never wanted a book to end so badly in my life. I've enjoyed the others that I've listened to by this author, but this one right here was a no for me

Not as good as first book

Author uses same words to describe all the characters, also the story is unbelievable. Some parts were drawn out

the most annoying main girl ever

The story would have been good but good Lord the main character girl is the most insufferable human ever. Then the woman who does the voice for her some how makes it even worse. I couldn't even finish the entire book because she is just that annoying.
