Publisher's summary

From USA Today bestselling author Jessica Wayne, comes a pulse-pounding, steamy forbidden romance between a hunter and a vampire. So grab something strong, maybe some skittles (or your snack of choice), and get ready for a vampire romance unlike anything you've heard.

Hunting vampires is her legacy.

Detective Rainey Astor walks a dangerous line between the human and supernatural worlds. As a vampire hunter, she's a formidable opponent, having killed hundreds of their kind. Yet, when her latest foray into the supernatural world goes terribly wrong, she finds herself rescued by the very creature she's vowed to kill.

Elijah Hawthorne is unlike any vampire Rainey has ever met. His sexy as hell exterior hides a tortured soul seeking redemption. Rainey knows she should avoid him at all costs, but fate has other plans. Together, they're forced down a twisted path of ancient revenge and tainted love.

With Elijah guarding her back, Rainey must protect her heart, because giving in could mean a death sentence for them both. But if they don't discover the hidden identity of their enemy before the clock runs out, she's as good as dead anyway.

Contains mature themes.

Such an interesting series

So many different characters and creatures doing magic and everything else. Great narration too. The characters were so evolved and fun to hear about.

Good story

This was a good series. I enjoyed each of the books and definitely the relationship between Elijah and Rainey. There were moments where I laughed, then cried. This was my first series by this author, and I'm hoping she wrote books about other characters in the series (I'll definitely be looking into it).

Good action, Good Spice, A lil not Nice

A lil drawn out, not as spicy as I though, cliffhanger, but action was okay and glad it works out for most the characaters. End was a lil anticlimactic to me

Busy storyline

I liked that the book kept you engaged. Not a lapse in interesting parts. I also appreciate the narrators- so much better having a real person telling the story than a virtual AI!!!

Great book if you love extremely cheesy romances.

The female narrator was just plain awful. The male narrator wasn’t as bad but his lines made him seem like a half-wit. And so much idiotic banter…..with better narrators, it might not have been so bad.

The story line itself was interesting, which is the only reason I made it through all 3 books. At times, I nearly gave up.

The sex scenes were so boring. Same thing over and over. No angst or nervous tension built. It was just slam bam, thank you ma’am, every time.

As I said, the storyline wasn’t horrid and could have been SO much better if the two main characters didn’t have the mentality of teenagers.

Twists and turns

Three books in the series long and Drawn out. Hard to keep my attention. But I have to finish it.

So bad

It’s as if written by a snarky, angry teen and the cringe is dialled to max. I couldn’t finish the book as it is lacking in any intelligent storyline and dialogue. Slogged through all but 7 hours when I just couldn’t take it anymore.
The only joy was to realize I hadn’t paid for the book in credit or coin when I wanted to return it.
Wouldn’t recommend, nothing to offer that others haven’t done far better.

Nothing new here

Interesting mix of vampire, shifter and witch shenanigans. The main couple Elijah and Rainey were likable which is a must for me.
Here is the main negative for me. The male narrator switched his volume just within a sentence so much it was incredibly annoying
He was either shouting or you couldn’t hear him. Very bad technique for a narrator
