Not the end...

I have absorbed all of the books in The Phoenix Pack series and in the Mercury Pack series, as well. However, I do not know what made me take so long to start listening to this book. I think part of me knew that there was only two more books left within the two series and I did not want it to end. Suzanne Wright however, let us know that there will be a spin-off that deals with Mila's family and also the kids a big grown up. I am very excited because all the kids that have a distinct personality and I cannot wait to see what antics they get into.

Now to the review:

Throughout this entire series Dominic has been the one to hit on everybody's mate. It does not matter if the wolf or the shifter is stronger than him he likes to have fun. So it only makes sense for him to find a mate that find his Antics funny but let him know that the flirting that he used to do would not happen. He worked to get Mila and I am glad that she did not give him an inch. Especially since her predestined mate was not the smartest tool in the shed.

I am very happy that his mate is a pallas cat. I love those cats and they don't mess around. I slove the fact that her parents were two different breeds of shifters and that her mother's animal is a wolverine. The interactions she had with her brother was hilarious to me and that made me laugh out loud. 🤣😂

There was a lot going on within the story and the person that I thought was trying to kill Mila was not who ended up being who I thought it would be, which is a plus. I hate a story that is very predictable and this was not at all. I did want to know more about Dominic's past only because he stated that he believes his mom is dead but there is no confirmation if she was or not.

I'm also glad that Dominic was the one to reassure me love that even though they are not predestined made and chosen mates that it made no difference to him. He wanted her for her and he will always choose her no matter what happens. I also love the epilogue and I am very excited to see more of Mila's family only because her brother and her uncle's, the wolverines and the pallas cats, are a riot.

Decent Finale - final Nitpick/Critique

So, I liked these characters. I appreciated their dynamic and chemistry that went farther than the (tired) true mate all-powerful bond. The twists of the other interlopers were good.
Nitpicks and SPOILERS- Too much near death. we get it. she almost died..like 100 times and yet was saved. at no point was this a real fear because there is always a healer. and by the 3rd time, it was old. The only real tension was the final battle and Dominic's injury.
Okay, I've read far too many books like this, enough erotica and even written some stories myself to know that there are more words than "c-ock", "p-ssy", and "d-ck" to describe body parts. And there are a thousand ways to paint. picture of a sex scene. But every single one is the same. The same descriptors and tone. When she did try to get creative we were rewarded with the most awful "he came so hard he thought the head would blow off his d-ck" ...Really? way to kill the mood. And a ton of sex isn't the same as great sex. The heat just doesn't feel like it's there because it's the same as all the prior couples, just a different font. Try something new. It's like her incessant use of the word "fisted". Please, just say gripped... just one time!! It's just feels lazy to be honest.
I definitely feel like the series has run it's course.

high expectations

I have loved this series by Suzanne Wright and was eagerly awaiting Dominic's book. He appeared in all the prior books and I was just expecting a really EPIC book for him. This book was good, but it didn't really live up to what I had hyped it to be in my mind. Some of the books in this series I have listened to multiple times - (very unusual for me) but I probably won't re-listen to this one. That being said, I hope Suzanne Wright continues writing shifter books even if not in the Phoenix/Mercury pack series. Something on the Wolverine pack or more on the Palace Cats would be good. I'll keep eagerly reading/listening to all Suzanne Wright's books as they are released!
Also, love Jill Redfield as the narrator of these books.

Love This Series!!!!

I am so happy that Dominic got his HEA!!! I also really liked Mias personality and her family was a fun surprise... I want to hear Elliot’s story and hope that Kane gets a book and a HEA!!! I love this series it’s very sexual yes but it also has Amazing, strong, hilarious, heart teaser moments plus characters that seem to truly enjoy life. Of course Jill is wonderful and the story would not be the same without her Awesome narration!!! Highly recommend

I wish this one wasn't the last one in the series. Maybe there can be another series with the packs kids.

Love it

I loved all the other books in this series, but I couldn't wait till I got to this one. I wasn't disappointed. I always see reviews on the books where some say it's not great, but it's all about your own opinion. It might not have been their cup of tea. I was surprised during some of the events, but I'm glad I went through the whole series.

Suzanne Wright Has another winning story and the narrator Makes it believable! Even if you haven’t read the other Phoenix/mercury pack stories, this is a great read.
