Asher Stone before: tormented, soulful, and intriguing

Asher Stone after: angry, spiteful, and cruel

I fell for him before we met, but I made a mistake he won't forgive. Asher Stone thinks he can bully me, but he doesn't know me. The girl he wrote those letters to is gone. I'm not the girl he wanted, but he won't leave me alone.

So Unexpected

I wasn't at all sure what I was getting into when I picked up this book; the blurb was intriguing, but there was little information, and no trigger warnings in the description. I personally don't have any triggers to worry about, but I'm not always a fan of bully romance because it's not often done well; especially if you expect me as the reader to forgive and root for the bully character. BUT this story... Asher had a LOT of valid reason to be mad at Cora, and to want to punish her; it's not healthy, but his feelings were valid. She did a stupid, and hurtful thing. He was a little extreme in going about making it possible to "punish" her, but truthfully, I found myself for the first time being really fascinated by the emotional war he was waging against her in the beginning. He didn't really do anything truly cruel (except that one thing, and that almost lost him my graceful lenience), but I was NOT expecting this story; not even after the first several chapters. I've clearly been ruined by dramatic twists and 3rd act breakups and cruelty and the wicked, deceitful, underhanded games authors play with lulling you into a peaceful place with the relationships and then throwing in an emotionally wrenching scene or misunderstanding, because I didn't trust this story AT ALL; like seriously, all the way up to the end, I was still waiting for jerk, bully, mean guy Asher to pull a "gotcha! look how stupid you were!" and when it didn't happen, and everything was just exactly as it was being presented, I was surprised at how tense I'd been waiting for the hammer to fall. And when it just all turned out to be real, I was so unbelievably happy. Yes, there are a lot of topics which could be triggers in this story, but I don't think this is a dark story at all, and I LOVED IT immensely. But, like I said, I don't have personal triggers, so if you are sensitive in any way, make sure you check out what they are with the author before you pick this one up.

Emotional Bully

Step-sister was a long time pen pal to Asher, but dies in a car accident. Cora find the letters in her step-sister’s room. She writes Asher, pretending to be her step-sister. Asher immediately knew it was an imposter and set up a “gotcha” type meeting. This trips off the relationship between Asher and Cora. In the beginning Asher is angry and vindictive. He gets his uncle to sponsor Cora, so she gets a “scholarship” to his elitist school. There he intends to make her life a misery. As things progress, Asher changes, and they become a romantic couple. Overall it was a good story. The characters are well developed. Narration for audio-version was good.

High School Bully Romance

Asher and Cora's high school bully romance is filled with angst, drama, romance, and twists and turns. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. Cora is an interesting character, naive, but strong, and caring. I liked Asher possessiveness and protectiveness. The storyline is interesting. Emma Tigan did a great job with the narration. Hatred

Not sure how I feel about this book. Asher and Cora hate each other, but what is really behind it. Why does Asher treat her the way he does, but than save her from others? Why does he spread rumors? Why did she do what she did when she read the letter?

High School bully romance

This is a high school bully romance. This book is about Cora and Asher. Asher has been pen pals with Cora's perfect, cheerleader, stepsister. Cora's stepsister and stepfather die in a car crash and she finds all these letters. Cora decides to write Asher back as her stepsister and then she also meets Asher. Asher and Cora both have experienced a lot of loss. Asher knows Cora is lying about who she is. From that moment on Asher hates Cora and Cora loves Asher. Asher gets Cora into his private school to further torment her. Asher confuses Cora because sometimes he stands up for her. When things start to finally go good between them Cora betrays Asher's trust, again.

Asher and Cora

Cora is a quiet girl, when she read letters she shouldn't have, she falls for a boy she's never met. What happens when theirs a missunderstanding and he becomes a total jerk. But is it true what they say? Theirs a thin line between love and hate ... I think it's white hot lust!!

So cute! Finished this pretty quick cause I couldn't put it down.

YA Slow burn, bully romance

Asher & Cora are good together once they get together. There are hurdles and angst that keep them apart, and yet it's that same angst that draws them together. I liked parts of the story but I had a hard time connecting. There were too many characters that didn't seem to need to be there, there were some things that had me asking "What the heck?"...(mild spoiler-What happened with the locks?). Cora's mom seemed so absent & Asher's father was so disengaged that it made me wonder if parents really leave their kids this way...even if they are high schoolers. The author did explain why the parents are this way, and yet I just couldn't get passed that bit. The story had so much potential, and it did keep me engaged even if some of it was unbelievable to me.
The story is still very good and I really liked the narrator. Give the story a listen...
