He’s not looking for trouble. All former spy and current national security agent York Newgate wants is to propose to the woman he loves, RJ Marshall. Then they can move to Shelly, Washington, and start the calm, safe life he’s been dreaming of for over a year. Too bad trouble doesn’t agree. Or maybe RJ simply attracts trouble because she’s just going out for coffee when she spots a wanted, known terrorist standing in the middle of a street in Paris. At least she thinks it’s international criminal Alan Martin. But he’s in jail, right? Wrong. Martin has escaped.

Story
Tenley Roth's first book was a runaway best seller. Now that her second book is due, she's locked in fear. Can she repeat her earlier success, or is she a fraud who has run out of inspiration? A century earlier, another woman wrote at the same desk with hopes and fears of her own. Birdie Shehorn is the daughter of the old-money Knickerbockers. Under the strict control of her mother, her every move is decided ahead of time, even whom she'll marry. Tenley and Birdie are from two very different worlds, but fate has bound them together.

Forgiveness and love
I loved the book. The story is so tender and sweet. Plenty of things going on to keep your attention. I love the characters and the focus of keeping our focus on God. And that hopes and dreams do come true even if not when you thought they would happen.
Surprisingly the AI voice was not bad. Some of the words were pronounced wrong. Good and bad - some readers have different tones and volumes and different voices for each character which I like unless they don’t do it well. The AI reader didn’t do voices but was more like me reading it to myself. It would have been nice to have a deeper tone for male voices. Very nice though! This was my first time with the AI reader.
