Publisher's summary

The only hope to keep her newborn baby alive is to reach the safety of her Indian people.... This mountain man is the last person she should trust to get her there.

As a half-Indian raised among her Peigan tribe, Moriah Clark knows better than to trust white people. The tragedy that resulted in her birth is proof enough. But when her trusted grandfather marries her to a white man, she has no choice to but to obey and hope this new life isn’t her downfall. Her white husband turns out to be a decent sort, but his unexpected death left her to birth a newborn baby among hostile mountain men. She wants nothing more than to retreat to the safe haven of her tribal upbringing. When a mysterious frontiersman arrives on her doorstep seeking her deceased husband, his offer to escort her and the babe to her people seems like the opportunity she’s been praying to find. But can she trust him?

Samuel Grant has been sent to retrieve Henry Clark for his sister’s wedding, but the sight that greets him at the little cabin in the woods is not what he expected. Not only has the man died, but Henry’s wife is fighting off an aggressive gang of men at gunpoint - while trying to conceal a newborn. He can’t leave the pair unattended, so helping her travel into the mountain country to reach her family seems like the only option. If he can win her trust, that is.

Such a grueling journey with a three-week-old baby will be risky, but the challenges that arise test them far more than either expected. When a devastating surprise increases the danger tenfold, Moriah focuses all her efforts on keeping her newborn daughter alive. Maybe that’s why she doesn’t realize how much of her heart belongs to the mountain man - until it’s too late.

Excellent

A story of survival and hope, giving trust to a man to get her to the people who can help her and her infant child. A good look of the early times and settlement. Given audio for my voluntary review

Continuing this great saga!

The continuing story of the Grant family is heartwarming and action-packed. After agreeing to run an errand for his future sister-in-law, Samuel Grant discovers that he not only can find direction in life but also lose his heart to two females. Moriah has lost her husband and father of her baby girl. She must face the decision between her people or the man who has repeatedly saved her life and showed her love and tenderness.

I did not think I would enjoy this series as much as I have, but Heart of the Mountains has been a refreshing series of original ideas, plots and characters. Misty Beller has done it again with book 6 and Leonor Woodworth continues her wonderful narration. This is one of my favorites!

They have to overcome harsh conditions while trying to survive. This book is filled with adventure, hardship, faith and growing romance. The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Leonor A Woodworth brings this book to life.

Treacherous Journey

This was another great audiobook I got to listen to written by Misty Beller narrated by Leonor Woodworth. The narration of this book was wonderful just like all the other ones. This book is a treacherous journey over the mountains with barely enough food and sickness and cold weather. I love that Samuel and Moriah are both strong characters. Many things happened that kept me on my toes to see how they were going to get out of different situations. And there’s a baby to keep warm and alive too but Moriah and Samuel are very determined to keep everyone alive and get to a safe place. This is book six and can be read alone. I have enjoyed each book in this series.
I received an audiobook from the narrator but was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Daring Journey

I was a bit leery with this being a christian romance.I don't care for either, really.lol I was surprised to find that I really liked this book! I found it more adventure than romance. Samuel comes upon the widow of the man he was sent to see in need of help.He helps. Leonor A Woodworth was a very good narrator. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Incredible journey

I liked the hardships shown on a journey at that time for a widow, her infant, and the kind gentlemen who tries to help her family. Though the dangers are many, their faith will have to carry them through. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.
