Publisher's summary

From Conan O’Brien’s longtime assistant and cohost of his podcast, Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend, a completely hilarious and irreverent how-to guide for becoming a terrible, yet unfireable employee, spilling her trade secrets for minimizing effort while maximizing the rewards.

Sona Movsesian didn’t wake up one day and decide to become the World’s Worst Assistant. Achieving such greatness is a gradual process—one that starts with long hours and hard work before it eventually descends into sneaking low-dosage edibles into your lunch and napping on your boss’s couch.

With a forward from Conan O’Brien, The World’s Worst Assistant is a mixture of how-tos (like How to Nap at Work and How to Watch TV at Your Desk), tips for becoming untouchable (like memorizing social security and credit card numbers and endearing yourself to friends and family), and incredible personal stories from Sona’s twelve years spent working for Conan that put their adorable closeness and professional dysfunction on display. In this audiobook, Sona will explain her descent from eager, hard-working, ambitious, detail-orientated assistant to self-awarded title-holder for the worst in history.

This book is irresistible fun you’ll want to give to every young professional in your life. For listeners of heartfelt humor like that of Phoebe Robinson and Colin Jost, The World’s Worst Assistant is a chance for fans, viewers, and listeners of Conan’s shows and podcast to fall in love with Sona and Conan all over again.

Discover memoirs and essay collections, scripted podcasts, and even—in the case of our winner—a documentary series. The protean nature of this list makes sense for comedy, because there’s humor just about everywhere and in everything if you’re looking for it. Sometimes that humor is just plain silliness, but sometimes that humor gets down to the core of what it means to be a person—a way to make sense of the bumps and bruises we get along the way.

What a joy!

Sona is a natural storyteller. She keeps the audience entertained from start to finish.
Who is the talk red-haired woman she tricked into writing her forward?

Sona is hilarious and real. A must for Conan fans

I have been a huge Conan fan since his late night show. Grew up as a huge Simpsons fan and SNL lover. Naturally, I started listening to his podcast and was introduced to Sona outside of the remotes on his late night show. Sona is that person you want to hang out with. She is that person you know if you have a good time, the cops will probably get involved. On the podcast when Sona announced she was writing a book I immediately jumped in line to get it. This book is Sona, the same Sona you hear on the podcast. It is a very heartfelt, real and hilarious look into her life. During the first chapter, I started recommending this book to friends. A must listen for comedy fans and anyone interested in behind the scenes of the Entertainment business. Well done, Sona!

Hilarious as expected!

Didn't expect Sona's writing to be so eloquent and hilarious at the same time. Listening to Sona narrating the book made it 125 times better. Great to have Conan at the start as well!

Bad Assistant, Good Book

I had low expectations for this book (sorry, Sona, but I feel like you would understand why) and ended up really enjoying it! Funny, light, and entertaining, I love hearing Sona's tales and as a Bad Assistant myself, I totally related to the content. And, Sona would be proud to know I listened to this book instead of working.

Love the insight into their boss/assistant relationship. This was so fun and if anything it was over too soon

Great job Sona

I mean this in the most complementary way possible; This book is exactly as scatological as I expected it to be
