Not awful but not unlistenable. 3 out of 5. Drags a lot. At times the narrator is just too dramatic and breathy. Honey it’s not that dramatic. Take it down a notch.

well-written and well narrated
The 3 titles I've listened to by this author all had the same narrator and I was glad. The narration was great, and this narrator is perfect for these books. I hope to listen to her again.
The Widow, like the Librarian and The Lodger, was so, so well written, Riveting throughout, the action keeping my interest. The characters were unique, unusual and finely drawn.
What I didn't like was that I like the protagonists to be the good guys not the criminals, and each of these characters was guilty of something. Can't say more about that without spoilers. I will listen to more by this author.

Trigger warning
I made it over 85%, then DNF. The storyline was implausible and crawled along after the first third of the book. I stuck with it based on the Goodreads reviews, but then: wham! A truly messed up “twist” that made it impossible for me to finish.
