Stunning

Amazing , humorous, intriguing, and romantic. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery and the romance too. The main characters were engaging and memorable. Arturo and Shaun made a great duo. A very gratifying ending to an interesting story. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion
The narrator did an exceptional job bringing the characters and story to life . I recommend it.

A Beautiful Narration

🎧 Beautifully Narrated by Duncan Prescott
A new narrator for me with this vocal which I loved, and different voices and accents used for the characters bringing them to life. 🎧 5 stars for vocals from Mr Prescott.

📕 4.5 stars for the story. A great start, and when the characters first meet, tension runs between them.
Sean 32 years (former police and Detective), was now a P.I. after being injured on the force, with nasty accusations against him which weren't suitable for his business, without clients, he'd have to close his agency.
Rafael wants the murder of his friend solved and goes to Sean for help.
Hot 🔥sexy scenes included switching & bondage scenes between Sean and Arturo, Rafael's secretary.
I loved the mind-reading between the characters and Arturo's cheeky personality at the start with Sean.

This book is a different kinda vampire story from the familiar themes of vampire traits which I loved.
Dangers around them with mysteries that need to be solved, but new questions keep coming up. Who keeps helping the baddies in this?
The Vampire and The P.I. is a captivating story and narrative I loved. A HEA ending. I recommend to audio of this story.

Spicy with a mystery plot.

This was a new author and new narrator for me.
The story itself was a mystery set about 10 years in the future where vampires and humans were attempting to coexist. I thought the mystery was well done and was glad that it wrapped up in the end.
My one area of frustration was that it seemed to switch perspectives without obvious signs that it was switching. Which left me confused and took a moment to figure out what was going on. What was bizarre is that it’s not only the two main characters. You can get pretty deep into the book without realizing who the other main character is.
Duncan I thought was great. The only thing I ask for is clear distinction between characters and Duncan did this well. Overall 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

Mystery and Spice

There’s a good amount of mystery and spice in the story that kept me entertained. The author had an interesting take on vampires and their social structures. I enjoyed seeing how the author incorporated the paranormal in the story. And the mystery was very good and had some nice twists. It was also fun having the different points of view of the main characters. I liked seeing their relationship develop and grow as the story progressed. I’m very hopeful that we get to know more about some of the side characters in future books and get more of these guys I enjoyed.

Perfect beginning to a new series

I was introduced to a new author, JP Bowie, and as a devoted fan of MM books, I was eagerly anticipating a captivating story with the perfect amount of intensity. I found myself absolutely engrossed in BOOK 1 of the series titled "The Vampire and the P.I" (Private Investigator).

This narrative revolves around Sean, our intrepid PI protagonist, who finds himself teetering on the brink of closing down his business. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, a mysterious Vampire approaches him, seeking his investigative skills to unravel the intricacies of a murder. In this world, where Vampires and humans coexist, I was completely enamored.

Auturo, the young secretary, is not just an attractive man; he's also a Vampire who captures Sean's attention, setting off a series of sparks that ignite a passionate connection. Sean, who has long steered clear of serious relationships in favor of one-night encounters, and Auturo, who has sworn off love after the tragic loss of his previous lover due to the discrimination against Vampires, find their lives intertwining in unexpected ways.

What truly resonated with me in this story was the author's meticulous character development. Each character came to life through audio, making me feel deeply connected to their individual journeys. Duncan Prescot, the narrator who was also new to me, skillfully brought this narrative to life through his outstanding solo narration. His ability to master various accents allowed me to effortlessly distinguish between characters during the audiobook experience.

I'm eagerly anticipating BOOK 2 and can't wait to share my thoughts on it. For this first installment, I'd rate the book a solid 4 stars, and Duncan Prescot's narration deserves a resounding 5-star accolade. On the whole, I'd give this book an impressive 4.5 stars.

Clothes Be Gone!!

This was a delightful listen! Duncan Prescott was fantastic with all the different voices, but especially his Vampire accents! Sean is a PI that the vampire Raphael hires to investigate his human lover's death. Sean and Arturo, Raphael's assistant are sexy hot but also quite playful! That first time when Sean's clothes were just suddenly GONE made me smile! Arturo is a playful, young-looking vamp, but he is also smart, powerful and very fast! Interesting murder investigation plot woven seemlessly with the romance and of course I cannot wait for Raphael to find his real true love next.

Mystery, spice, and everything nice!

This was a new to me and new to me narrator. It was a great first book in a series leaving me wanting to listen to book two right away. It was well-written and kept me interested from start to finish. I loved the chemistry of Sean and Arturo. They were perfect for each other despite their vast differences. The smexy scenes were hot and the added mystery to the story was engaging.

Duncan Scott did an amazing job with this narration. I loved all his different voices and accents. You could clearly tell the difference between characters. Will definitely listen to other books he's narrated.

Really Enjoyable Story

I really liked both MCs. I liked that the angst was low and there wasn't a lot of inner dialogue about communication to one another. The story was pretty easy to follow and I enjoyed the mystery part as well as the romance. The spice was nice, sexy but not over the top and well written.
This was a new narrator and author to me and I thought the narrator did a fabulous job! Reminds me a bit of Adam Gold who I adore!
Overall I think the story was well written and I liked it enough to get the next books and listen to them and see if Raphael finds love too!
I was given a copy of this audio for an honest review. Had I used a credit, I would not be disappointed.
