Publisher's summary

Eliana is hurtling through space on board a Lasaran battleship and getting to know not one but two alien races. It's the most exciting adventure of her long life...until the ship is unexpectedly attacked. Amid the chaos, she valiantly helps everyone she can before an explosion renders her unconscious. When Eliana awakens, she finds herself alone, floating in space, clad only in a spacesuit, with no ship in sight.

Commander Dagon and the crew of the Segonian battleship Ranasura respond to a distress call from their Lasaran allies and join a massive Alliance-wide search-and-rescue mission. He quickly achieves communication with a lone Earthling female and races toward her. Every time they speak, he becomes more desperate to reach her before her oxygen supply runs out. Her strength, bravery, and humor entice him, even more so when she defies all odds and they meet in person.

As he and Eliana embark upon a quest to find her missing friends, a bond swiftly grows between them. But they are not the only ones searching for Earthling survivors. When Eliana herself becomes the hunted and their enemies begin to close in, can the two of them fight their way to victory?

Contains mature themes.

Wow

I love this series. DD has created a whole new world of aliens and worlds you can get lost in. Everything she writes is a wonder. Can’t wait to see who’s next to find their out of this world life mate. The narration by Kristen Potter is always great.

Worth the wait

When I heard the preview of the beginning of this book at the end of the Lasaran, I couldn't wait to hear it. The January release date seemed so far away. When it became available for pre-order, I jumped right on that purchase. It was worth the wait.

Great story and nice to hear from some of the characters from the IG series.

Without trying to give too much away, while the couple's fate is a little predictable, their journey was not. I enjoyed their story and am looking forward to each new release in this series which is turning out to be just as good if not better as the Immortal Guardians series of which this is book 2 if the spin-off series.

Great writing and world building and as always, great narration.

She did it again! OUTSTANDING

Dianne managed to make me cry, laugh and be on the edge of my seat. What more could you ask for? Although it is only the second book in this series, it incorporates all we love with the Immortal Guardian series with the new alien story. Thank you Dianne Duval for the story and Kristen Porter for doing a wonderful job again of making the characters come alive. It wouldn't have been the same without you.

Guardians in Space

I can’t really see this book as a stand-alone story. It’s just best enjoyed if you’ve read The Lasaran which starts The Aldebaran Alliance series and follows the Immortal Guardians series.
This story picks up from the end of The Lasaran when their ship is attacked. Eliana makes every effort to save passengers and crew until she gets knocked out by an explosion and someone else saves her. Here’s a virus that was supposed to destroy humans on Earth but has given Gifted Ones immense physical advantages which saves Eliana.
Duvall did a good job of taking the Immortal Guardians into space and it will be interesting to see where she takes the overall story arc, which is not yet clear. I would have wished for more positive news of survivors at the story ending and more sense of community like the IG. I was rather surprised that there was not more recognition of Eliana’s ability to survive - it seemed to be downplayed some. Anyway, here’s hoping for the best.
I believe Potter was a great choice as narrator for the IG and Aldebaran books.

Two strong people who deserve happiness

This was a great story. I loved the interaction between Eliana and Commander Dagon. The story was not centered round sex but around the relationship between the two. This book was not a filler but a pivotal book within this series. I cannot wait to find out what will happen within this series and I need to know where the other Gifted Ones are.

one of my favorite books

Can't wait for more. I have listened to this book multiple times and will more I'm sure.

Have been a fan of this series for years and have a copy of them all. when the author started to take them in the direction of outer space, I was skeptical. But OMG IT IS GREAT.
I'm also VERY happy she is doing some books with the female immortal guardians. It's nice to read about a strong female and not the stereotypical damsel and I'm sorry to say but down right stupid. Women are strong and smart and not all will scream stupid in new situations. We can actually think logically.
