Publisher's summary

The human soldiers stranded on the planet Paradise have been recruited into an alien legion to do the dirty jobs that the high-tech species won't do. Their first mission is to kick the enemy off a backwater planet no one cares about. It's a simple assignment, except everyone has a hidden agenda, and the planet could become a deathtrap.

Repetitive passages

The story was good, but sometimes it seems that the author was writing for someone with a short memory. There were several instances where he gave us a summary of what we just read in the previous chapter. That’s fine if we’re reading a serial and read the previous chapter last month, but annoying when we’ve just finished the last chapter. Maybe he gets paid by the word.

Not as good as the original but still very entertaining

Guess i just got used the skippy too much. I like the spin off and will probably listen to next in the series.

Wonderful direction for Exfor Universe

The book is funny, the story stands on its own (even without Skippy), and RC Bray is excellent as always.

The same but different - and possibly the best.

I had low expectations that the galaxy could have a worthy story without Joe and Skippy. The universe created has thankfully enough depth, lore, and races to stand on its own in the new adventure. A more concise and small setting for this story aids in the telling.

Did not disappoint!

I can’t say enough good things about the Expeditionary Force series and Craig Alanson’s excellent writing. I’ll admit that when I happened along Columbus Day a few years back, I almost quit listening after the first chapter but there was just something about the story that told me to give it a chance and I’m very glad I did.

Because of this series I was also introduced to the multi-talented R.C. Bray. I now seek out books read by Mr. Bray because I know if he is associated with the story it will not disappoint.

Thank you to both Craig and R.C. for countless hours of enjoyment and I look forward to your future works.

Another winner

Love the spin off of the main story! There are legs to this storyline. Keep it coming.

Who needs Skippy?

Another great book in the ExForce series. A combination of action and humor, this book doesn't disappoint and is well worth the credit! The surprise cliffhanger ending now has me wanting more...
