Publisher's summary

Mate-bonding with a co-worker is against company policy . . . accidentally or not.

Janice knows better than anyone that entanglements with coworkers are risky business.

But when Janice accidentally breaks a coworker's nose, she finds herself unexpectedly mated to an orc, and under Monster Resources' scrutiny.

Khent from the IT Department is quiet and nerdy, despite the tusks. His emails are overly wordy. He won't stop apologizing even though she's the one who broke his glasses. Clearly, fate got this one wrong.

All Janice has to do is stay away from Khent until the bond dissipates. Easy enough, right? Except . . . Her company laptop chooses this week to need the orc from the IT Department, repeatedly . . . She accidentally clicks on orc porn at work and has to take remedial phishing training with Khent.

. . . Their bond will keep pulling them back together until it is completed.

Contains mature themes.

Funny and spicy

I’m a sucker for a brawny orc, but a sexy socially awkward orc who is still captivating…so original. Not every Orc needs to be a stereotypical whips and chains daddy dom in tusks. Khent is dreamy and Janice is delightful. Now I can see Janice ruling their Orc den to Khent’s delight. J+K is comedy and cocky in spades. Definitely NSFW but definitely worth one credit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh Kent

This one is so adorably sweet. Kent is just such a sweet guy. I loved His and Janice’s story. The narrator does a good job. Fun listen.

Completely adorable, but needed more depth

I found this story to be so charming. The humor and characters and scenariowere spot on. To the point where I just wanted a more depth, and for them to exist more outside of the office. After the characters first get together, I felt like there needed to be a chapter where you got to see them as a couple outside of work being hot and spicy and sweet, and all of the good stuff, before they hit the inevitable Rocky patch. Not to mention the basic mechanics and challenges of being an inter-species couple. There’s just so much to dig into. It would have made the story feel more real, and brought the characters to life even more. It also would’ve made it a longer listen, which is always a good thing, as it was too short for such a fun story. So yes, everything was wonderful but more please!

Oh my Overlord! This could’ve been better

Another lukewarm romance with lost potential. The tone is light, but not funny. This author needs to ramp up the banter and the situational comedy. Having more supernatural creatures and a plot beyond the romance would help too. Past the gimmick of mistakenly initiating an orc bonding, this story was nothing more than a long slog of her inner monologue about office romances being bad and failing to have an adult conversation about what they might be feeling (while nonetheless boinking like beasts until she panics). And sex, focused on his immense size and their fluids (several crass but not very sexy scenes). There’s also a lot of clunky swearing using overlord, as in “Oh My Overlord” or “thank the evil Overlord.”
I don’t think I’ll be moving on if there is a third novella.
