Publisher's summary

The woman's killing me. I'm not the kind of man who would normally consider blurring the lines between landlord and tenant or boss and employee, but Summer is a walking temptation. Neurotic and obsessive when it comes to work, sure, but a damn cute temptation nevertheless. She's been a good tenant and an even better worker. Plus she doesn't simper or throw herself at me like a lot of women who find out my net worth. I've grown fond of her, but if she drags me out of bed in the middle of the night to talk about work one more time....

The man's a saint. Not only did Jason hire me for the greatest project I've ever run point on, but he also let me move into an amazing loft in his building as a job-relocation perk. Sure, he can be a grouch when I accidentally wake him up to go over the project, but he's been a fantastic boss and a surprisingly protective landlord. But...when did his shoulders get so wide? And why is that growling voice of his making me all weak in the knees lately?

Short and sexy co-worker romance

Summer is a woman in a man’s world of construction. Hire on as a seasoned project manager for Jason, a billionaire building mogul. She’s a little bit anal about making sure a project is done right. Maybe a little too much since she’s bothering Jason all hours of the day. Or is she?

This story is actually pretty cute. I love Summer’s attitude and how she really great at what she does. She’s so in the zone that she doesn’t know there are rumors about her.

I liked how Sasha Burke wrote in the double standard of women in the workforce. I really like how some scenes were dealt with as well.

As for as the heat, it was great. The narration by Pippa Jayne and Joe Arden was really good. I almost wish the book was longer so we could hear more. Solid read overall.

Great find!

I really enjoyed this listen! Sexy, funny and of course Joe Arden! When I finished I started right on the second book about Logan. Hopefully there will be more by this author on audible soon AND so glad it's in the Escape package making it even better!

Promising start.

I loved the first hour of this 3 hour 37min book. I really enjoyed the heroine’s youthful exuberance toward her job, her naïvete regarding her effect on men, and her “all business” relationship with the hero while being completely oblivious to his attraction to her. I could forgive the ridiculous hours she bothered him because she was a refreshing heroine. I thought it would be fun to watch her transform as the relationship moved onto a new stage – romantic and intimate. Unfortunately, after the promising start, the story became very sex-focused and I lost my reading pleasure. Sex is fine, but it became too much for me, I’m sad to say. I prefer more story. Or at least, for the sex scenes to move the story along. But that’s just me.

I loved the narration of Pippa Jayne and Joe Arden who are two of my favourites. They were wonderful here as usual.

Flatlined

I listened to the audiobook. The narration was ok. The story was ok. The book started out kind of interesting and flatlined. It wasn't terrible, it was just blah. I don't think the narration added anything to the story. It wasn't monotone, it just wasn't. At least not for me.

I would recommend you listen and judge for yourself. I have found that sometimes book 1 in a series doesn't hit the mark, but the following book might be really good. I am willing to try book 2. This book was maybe a 2.25, 2.5 for me.
