Publisher's summary

The phone rang, and Yasmine answered it, sending her into the ruins of the city to find a young man and rescue him from the Monoliths, a ruthless gang that had taken him prisoner.

But it wasn't quite what she expected. The Monoliths weren't ruthless, they were good people, led by an uncle she never knew she had, and Trey, the young man who reached out to her on her mother's phone, wasn't even a man at all.

He was an alien, and worse yet, one of the crabs that took all the water, and destroyed Earth.

But alliances were made, friendships forged, and now, in the wake of their victory against the crabs in Shantytown, Yasmine and her uncle The Baron are going on a journey no human has ever undertaken.

They are heading to The Nexus, the center of all galactic civilization, and the one place they can find help to take Earth's water back.

Loved it

This second book of the trilogy did not disappoint, Bailey Carr does a great job with the characters, but the author made it easy for her. I loved getting to know more about the characters and how the journey proceeded. I can’t wait for the next book!!!

LET THERE BE WAR!!!

WJ Orion and Bailey Carr return for round two in Orion's sci-fi trilogy The Dry Earth with The Nexus. It picks up right where The Phone left off as young Yasmine begins her plan to return water to her dying planet, leading her to the Grand Central Station of the Universe, The Nexus.

What follows is a strategic plan against their known enemies with huge interracial political ramifications as several new races of aliens become known, with a few epic suprises tied in.

The battles will leave you on the edge of your seat and the ending has me anxiously awaiting the next arrival.

I would highly recommend this book and this series.

The Nexus

I was worried this series was going to be more directed towards kids or young adults then it is W.J. ;) does a good job with the story line and Bailey does an excellent job as narrator.
