Publisher's summary

Patricia Fisher is about to find out that 52 is the perfect age for an adventure!

When her life is unexpectedly turned upside down, ginaholic housewife, Patricia, doesn’t react as most would. Instead, she empties the bank accounts and jumps on the first cruise ship available - it just happens to be the world’s largest and finest, the Aurelia.

Less than 24 hours later, the world throws her the next curveball and so begins a race against time to prove she’s not a killer.

She has help though:
Her butler - his perfect Downton Abbey accent and penchant for folding napkins correctly should be enormously helpful!
A pretty gym instructor - can balanced nutrition and perfect abs keep Patricia out of jail?

Her chances don’t look great, but in our most testing times, we truly find our inner strength. Join Patricia Fisher as she learns that you are never beyond discovering a new version of yourself. The world will always look a little different once you have seen it through Patricia’s eyes.

Enjoyable read/listen

The Missing Sapphire of Zangrabar: A Patricia Fisher Mystery Patricia Fisher Mysteries, Book 1, my second read/listen from author Steve Higgs. Well written & enjoyable. Narrator Stevie Zimmerman’s voice was perfect for this book and added to the listening enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Lighthearted fun

The perfect distraction for a lazy afternoon!
This is an enjoyable low stakes light hearted mystery. The plot is somewhat unbelievable but that is part of the charm of stories like this.

Too silly for me

The plot is silly, ridiculous, and unbelievable. If these qualities don't bother you, you may enjoy this book. I couldn't get beyond the absurdity of the plot, although the setting on a cruise ship could have been appealing. The narrator is top quality and carried the story in spite of its weaknesses. She couldn't quite redeem the book for me, however.

lightheaded romp

The plot line veered into a tale so unrealistically silly it strained even my credulity, and I am a reader happy to escape into almost any story. But just when i considered stopping, I got hooked. The narrator is very good. And overall, i enjoyed the audiobook. it had a great message in the end.

Lighthearted and funny

Steve Hicks is a great writer. His books are very funny with wonderful storylines. This one was very different in that the story unfolds on a cruise ship. The characters were great and I laughed and giggled throughout it. The narrator was fantastic. She has a wonderful voice and provides each character with their own distinctive voice and personality. This lighthearted book is a must.

Lots of fun with murder!

Steve Higgs has another winner! Laugh yourself silly while glued to the story and the suspense. Incredibly funny dialog with characters who truly are. Plot revolves around Mrs Fisher, a fiftysomething ordinary lady with a not unheard of problem. But her response to that problem is to book an around the world cruise in the finest suite on the grandest cruise ship. She even gets her very own butler! But the next morning it's all gone horribly wrong and she is accused of murder and has to solve it against all odds. Great fun!
Stevie Zimmerman is fantastic as the narrator who manages the equivalent of a straight face!
