Welcome my friends!

Welcome...to “The Land"!

The battle of the dead was won, but at a great cost. Sion, leader of the Mist Village, was left with only pain and regret as Richter was claimed by the abyss.

What no one but the abandoned chaos seed knows is that he narrowly avoided the curse of the lich Singh, a curse that still hangs above his head. Now, surrounded by miles of darkness and tons of crushing rock, Richter has to find his way back into the light.

The only problem is that this monster of a man is being pursued by monsters, a demon, and his own foolish choices. Faced with all the dangers of the deep dark, what will Richter say when the buried horrors of The Land come a calling and asked if he's paid his dues?

Well he'll look right back, stare that horror in the eye, and say, "Yes sir, the check is in the mail!"

Welcome back my friends! Welcome back...to The Land!

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Absolutely Amazing!!

I absolutely loved the addition to the series! It may not not seem like a lot at first but as read in depth information, it begins to seem like this is just the beginning in more way than one for the story. This book in series, I would say, marks where the real adventure begins and action starts picking more than ever before!

this wasn't a good representation of the land

first off, I love the series. every other book in it has been great. but when your most memorable moments to me are THAT chapter (still laughing) then a question, I see that as a problem.

SPOILERS

YOU WERE WARNED

hopefully we won't see this style of story where there is only a couple interactions with other characters, because all that dialogue was greatly missed. and having it all be replaced with multiple chapters of log reading, a convention, and a "summoning" wasn't enjoyable

Fan-freaking-tastic!

Action packed, exciting, thought provoking, and hilarious! LitRPG at it’s finest. There is a chapter that had me on the floor crying because it was so funny. The voice actor/narrator Nick Podehl brings this book to life! I’m going to play it again right now, gotta go!

A refreshing change of pace!

I love this series, and I love this book!!! Wonderfully narrated as always too!! While the previous books have been a frantic pile up of quests and adventure, this book takes a turn and focuses more on the main character. A great change of pace that doesn't leave you overwhelmed with more and more stuff having been piled on to the established series arc. Can't wait for more!!

Good Continuation

This is a good continuation of the story. It starts off where the last book left off. Considering how long the last book was it feels more of an epilogue. Rictor spends forever going over notifications and you can tell that AK put a huge brake on Rictor's power ascension. That said he steals a lot of concepts from more recent litrpg noteable divine dungeon. After that it picks back up and gets more enjoyable. I applaud AK for putting in "checks and balances" otherwise Rictor would be so OP the plot would be irrelevant. I can't help but wish for more and will be waiting for the next book. Hopefully it won't take years again.

Spoiler Alert
As an example of above the imp from book 1 shows up and demands rictor's debt be paid but then he spends over an hour ascending and forming a "power core" and ascending to a higher "tier". He does the same shtick where he presents options and pours over options for only 1 option to be actually viable, the first being useless, the second would kill him right away, and the third being so unlikely to succeed to not be considered.

Incomplete did not advance story arc

Wait for next book and read them together, not sure why this one got published on it own. Podehl does a great job as usual!
