I’ve been a fan since “ the ruin”!
I wait for really good books before using a credit ! Especially since I have unlimited ( kindle ) ( that I can’t figure out how to cancel ! Grrr!)
This writer surprised me ! She’s very good she Th e narrator is as good too!!
Combination gives you a great story a police procedural that isn’t too cozy or too dark ( think Tana French ?) I like that McTiernan isn’t a copycat writer doesn’t try to be anything other than herself !
Cormac Reilly is a great detective you truly root for ! I am rarely thru a book halfway without guessing the culprit but I was wrong in the last book ( and this one !
Cheers to the narrator too got her beautiful men’s voices ! That’s hard to do for a woman but she’s a pleasure to listen to!!

That was great!
That was a great book. Good plot, good character development, good subplots, and a wonderful story. I can’t wait for the next one in the series, they’ve all been terrific. There is one line toward the end about the odds of the coincidence (Cormack finding Anna), but even that coincidence was believable. It takes great writing to make unlikely coincidence work.
