Getting repetitive

I’m a long time fan of all of Daniel Silva’s books and have long considered Gabriel Allon one of my heroes! To me, The Collector came across with the same puns and witticisms that have been used consistently throughout the previous books. For example, the approach to the character Mikhael: he’s introduced the same way in all of the books (which is natural), but then every time he is referred to after that is almost always the same. Shouldn’t he “grow” along with Gabriel? If nothing else, maybe re-word those sentences about him?

I’m likely being picky in that I love these books and these repeat characters so much, nothing can ever meet my expectations. It’s like my husband and the new Star Wars movies. No matter how great they are, the excitement and nostalgia that came with growing up with the franchise can’t be overcome.

Never disappoints

I had a slow start here because of the Italian usage but I am so glad that I stayed with it! The story line with twists was exceptional! LOVE Gabriel Allon!!!

Entertaining yet frightening

Too short. Wish it had gone on longer. But thoroughly entertaining as usual. Still don’t know who had the Van Gough. May have to listen to it again.

One of his best novels

Really enjoyed listening to this story. It held my attention, which is not true of all audiobooks.

Amazing story, the narrator was not so much.

I loved this story, it pulls you in. Very relevant to the current events of the world and has elements of The Thomas Crown Affair mixed with The Hunt For Red October. It seemed like the narrator was not much into the reading/performing. Just didn’t feel like it was there - that spark of interest.

He does it again!

I love Silva books- I have read them all! When I think Gabriel’s story is over Silva finds a new story line! If he keeps writing I will keep reading!

How realistic the plot is.

Virtually all the characters are well defined & some rather quirky with several surprises. Definitely a thriller that is realistic for today.
