So helpful!

This book was so helpful! It's amazing the number of hurdles you face when your loved one is losing their mental competence. I needed to get a Power of Attorney and make all the medical and financial decisions for my mother, while still respecting her beliefs and needs, and keeping my sanity. This book is a lifesaver! I've relistened to several parts just to make sure I'm prepared for meetings with doctors and state employees.

Empathy and Self Care While Caring

Very well-written guide in what is a most heartbreaking phase of our lives. Having a blueprint of what to do when those outbursts or total lack of cooperation or memory occur is what distinguishes this guide. Having had to deal with my dad in his later years, it really struck home on some shortcomings I had that would have been aided by this guide. If anything, it will help ease those guilty feelings of whether you did your best and provided the best possible care. With this guide, you know you will and still be able to maintain life balance for yourself.
